From Formula D’s website:
Lotus is a soft pink blush with a touch of lilac and shimmer. It has enough color to give your face a healthy glow on cloudy days. If you want to have a glow from within look, please add Radiance to your staple. This soft shimmering peach blush will warm up your face. Flushed is in the shade of bright pink and apricot that mimics the natural blush. With shimmers, this blush will sure add a lovely glow to your face. Dandelion is a cute soft pink mineral blush with a touch of shimmer. It adds just enough color to your cheeks to give you a healthy glow for everyday wear. Soft, blendable, and long lasting.
What I liked:
– beautiful shades
– good color payoff
– easy to blend
– give cheeks a natural, healthy flush
– the price
What I didn’t like:
– like all mineral makeup blushes, they can be messy
My dear friend Dao of My Makeup Blog has recently launched her own mineral makeup line, Formula D. So far, she sells eyeshadows, blushes and powder and I’m a big fan of all of them. Dao was so kind to send me a couple of her blushes for me to try right before opening up her shop and I was so pleased with everything I received that I made a purchase. When I received her package, I found samples of the other two blushes of her line inside. It was unexpected and it totally made my day. Thanks Dao! So, without further ado, here are my thoughts on these blushes:
Flushed (on the right in the photo above) is definitely my favourite color. It is a shimmery and bright pink shade with hints of apricot that makes me look like I’m naturally blushing while giving my face a pretty glow.
Lotus (on the left in the photo above) is a subtle pink shade with lilac undertones and a hint of shimmer. Suitable mostly for cool toned ladies, it gives cheeks a soft touch of color. On days when I’m in a hurry I use this to contour as well as it isn’t too shimmery, but I think that works only if you are really pale like me.
Dandelion (on the left in the photo above) is a very soft shade of pink with just a hint of shimmer. This blush gives just the subtlest hint of color to your face and that’s why I like to use it on days when I’m wearing very minimal makeup or I’m in a rush and need something foolproof to apply quickly without making a mess and risking overdoing it. That’s just impossible to do with this shade.
Radiance (on the right in the photo above) is another favourite of mine. It is a shimmery peach blush that warms up my face, making me look awake, fresh and glowy in a very natural way even when I’m tired.
All the blushes feel soft and creamy to the touch and are easy to apply. They all have just the right pigmentation: they are not so sheer that the color won’t show up unless you layer it a lot but they aren’t too pigmented either so you won’t risk looking like a clown. They give a nice and healthy flush to your cheeks with just one or two swipes (depending on how intense you like your blush) and it’s impossible to go overboard with these, so they are perfect for those that are just starting to wear blush and are still mastering the art of applying it.
I was also impressed with how long they lasted on me. I would put them on in the morning before leaving the house and it’s only towards 6 pm that they start to fade a little. This is great as it means I don’t have to carry the blush with me and reapply often, which let’s face it, would be very messy with mineral makeup. Granted, if you’re going out at night too, re-applying it would be necessary.
Like all mineral makeup blushes, these can create a bit of mess when you apply them. If you’ve never used mineral blushes before, you may experience some powder flying around during application, but you’ll soon get the hang of it with some practice.

Summary
Overall, I love Formula D blushes. They have good color payoff to give your cheeks a healthy and natural color and glow without ever going over the top. Soft to the touch and easy to blend, these blushes last most of the day and are inexpensive. However, like all mineral powders, they can be a bit messy so be careful when you apply them.
