Name: True Eyes
Brand: Pupa
Size: 1,4g
Price: €11,50

From Pupa’s website:
The ideal complement to mascara and eye shadow, True Eyes emphasises your gaze and gives it extra depth. Suitable for professional use; provides a clear, precise line.

What I liked:
– intense black color
– creamy texture
– glides on easily, no tugging
– pigmented
– longlasting, no smudging

What I didn’t like:
– doesn’t last long on the waterline

As much as I like trying new products from different brands all the time, when it comes to buying a good black eyeliner for daily use, I very rarely stray from Pupa. One one of my favourites is called True Eyes and is available in only one shade: 01, an intense and true black that defines the eyes beautifully.

The tip of the pencil is quite soft and creamy, allowing it to leave a smooth and precise line without pulling nor tugging. You can easily create both thin and thick lines with it and because it has excellent color payoff, one layer is all you need. Overall, it’s quick and easy to use for makeup experts and novices alike.

In addition, the pencil stays put on my lids without smudging nor fading for the whole day. Granted, my lids aren’t very oily. If yours are, you might need a primer to make it last longer. But personally, I find its staying power really good and have never had problems with panda eyes whenever I wear this.

Although Pupa doesn’t mention whether this pencil can be used on the waterline or not, I still like to apply it there from time to time. I find the pencil to be gentle and it doesn’t irritate my eyes, but like most eyeliners, it lasts very little on the waterline, forcing me to reapply several times throughout the day. I’m not too fussed about this as I rarely use black on the waterline as it makes my small eyes look smaller, and it does an excellent job on the lid, but it’s something to consider if you’re looking for a pencil that lasts long on the inner rims too.

Available at: Pupa counters

Summary
Pupa True Eyes Eyeliner, is a pigmented, intense black eyeliner with a creamy consistency that glides on like a dream providing an opaque line that defines and emphasizes eyes. Once applied, it stays put without smudging but it fades fast from the waterline.

Rating: 4/5

I like that it’s so pigmented! I bet it would look go for a seriously harsh and dark smoky eye.

Seems like it works very well for smudging eyeliner :)

Anastacia, I rarely smudge eyeliner but I think it’ll work well that way too. :)

Wow, the pigmentation of the eyeliner is convincing, but why on earth is’t only available in one (!) shade? It doesn’t make any sense…

Mylanqolia, I know, that’s what I thought too. It’s really silly to create such a great eyeliner and make it available in only one shade. I hope more will be released soon.
