Do you wear makeup at home?
Beautiful with Brains says: sometimes I like to chill out by experimenting with makeup and trying new color combinations and techniques. But otherwise, I don’t wear makeup at all when I’m at home and know I won’t have to go out.

Generally not. I like to give my skin some breathing time, especially as my regular foundation is quite heavy (it’s not really for everyday use, but my excuse is that I don’t wear make-up everyday, haha). But sometimes I like to experiment with make-up when I’m at home, because I don’t have to worry about what’s ‘wearable’ or not. Then I tend to leave it on for just a few hours at the most.

Simone, I agree that it’s important to let skin breathe every now and then and what better time than when you’re relaxing at home? I think that home is a good place to try those artistic or editorial looks that you know aren’t wearable or to experiment with a look or technique you’ve seen and aren’t sure if you can pull it off. Sometimes we need the practice to master a look before wearing it outside, but otherwise I agree with you. It’s better to make skin rest.
Not really, unless I’m in the mood to play with make up or if I know I may go out later on, then I just let me face roam free, lol.

Dee, I agree that it’s good for skincare to have a break from makeup when we’re at home. But sometimes playing with makeup is fun, if you’re bored or you wanna try new looks and techniques you don’t know you’ll be able to pull off.
I totally agree with you answer, as if I’ve written it myself

Marina, hehe, I’m glad you agree with me.
When I was at university, i used to do more make up when i was staying home than when I went out…. i love experimenting new looks but I was always too self-conscious about wearing too much makeup out….didn’t feel too appropriate to wear bright color at uni…. instead I enjoyed a lot just stay home, did my make up, took pictures of myself….and yea… it was great!
Heidi, I know how you feel. Some looks, especially bright ones, aren’t always appropriate (I know I get funny looks sometimes when I wear them lol) but they’re beautiful and home is the right place to experiment and see how far you can go before wearing them outside.
Yes. Not every day. But most of the time when I wear makeup, I’m wearing it at home. Why? Well, I work from home. I spend most of my time here. If I only wore makeup when I went out, I’d rarely wear it at all. Then I wouldn’t have much of a blog, would I?

Trisha, that’s an excellent reason to wear makeup at home. If I were lucky enough to work from home, I’d wear makeup too.
No… u nless I’m playing and trying new techniques. Other than that, I’m au-naturale!
my skin that is!
SweetJeanette, me too!
Actually I wear make-up at home but when it’s not so hot and humid

Anastacia, I hope the weather gets better soon there! Here the torrid weather has gone and it’s been raining a lot. *sighs* But yeah, when it’s that hot, it’s better not to wear too much makeup at all.
Agreed with you and Marina!
wearing makeup at home is almost always experimental like my EOTD Marathon!

Vonvon, I’m glad we get to see your experimental EOTDs! I should learn from you and take more pictures of when I’m at home experimenting with makeup.
I also wear it at home when I experiment with make up or do my fun looks (too lazy to do a new one at the moment) but I prefer the naked truth when I stay at home. I’m too lazy to remove my make up, to be honest.

Mylanqolia, I hate removing makeup too. It’s such an hassle! So it’s good to go barefaced, letting your skin breathe and not having to remove all the makeup when you go to bed.
I never wear makeup at home, unless I’m testing something out or I’m experimenting with new looks!
I like to leave my face bare, so that it can breathe!

Stavroula, me too. At home is strictly experimenting/testing.
I never wear makeup if I’m just staying home, but I usually leave the house every day, so eventually I put it on. I have my routine down, so I usually only take 5 minutes applying it.

Prettykitty, experimenting is always fun. And it’s useful too to know how a look will suit you before you wear it outside the house.
