Product Review: I Provenzali Stick Labbra al Karitè

Name: Stick Labbra al Karitè (Shea Butter lip balm)
Brand: I Provenzali
Size: 5,7ml
Price: €2,67

From I Provenzali’s website:
It prevents cracking and redness. It protects from the cold and wind by creating a film-barrier against external agents. Thanks to its high concentration of Shea Butter, it deeply hydrates skin.

What I liked:
– dense consistency
– moisturizes lips for hours
– not sticky
– the packaging
– the price

What I didn’t like:
– some people may not like that it’s not completely natural
– not available outside Italy

For as long as I can remember, I have always used Labello lip balms. Sure, I strayed and tried other brands every now and then but I would always return to Labello in the end. I thought our love affair would never end, but now it seems that our relationship has run it course. What killed it? I Provenzali Stick Labbra al Karitè (Shea Butter Lip Balm). We met one fine spring day and it was love at first swipe. I haven’t touched any Labello lip balms since then.

I Provenzali Shea Butter lip balm has a dense consistency. It is easy to apply but, unlike most lip balms, it doesn’t melt into the lips instantly. But despite that, it doesn’t leave behind a greasy residue and doesn’t feels sticky on the the lips: on the contrary, it feels very comfortable and pleasant on. As for the scent, it is so faint, you’ll barely smell it, if at all, once applied.

Apart from a couple of exceptions, the lip balm is made mostly with natural ingredients, the main ones being Castor Oil and Shea Butter. The first creates a protective barrier on the lips that prevents water loss, while the latter has moisturizing properties and is chock full of antioxidant. The result? Lips are soft, hydrated and moisturized for hours.

In fact, this is one of the most long-lasting lip balms I have ever tried. Usually, I finish a tube pretty quickly since I’m used to applying lip balm a lot throughout the day but I still have to finish a tube of this despite daily use. The moisturizing effects last so long that I don’t feel the need to reapply as often as I did before. The only con? Unfortunately, I Provenzali isn’t available outside Italy so it will be very difficult for international folks to get a hold of it.

Available at:

Overall, I’m in love with I Provenzali Stick Labbra al Karitè (Shea Butter Lip Balm). This almost all-natural lip balm has a dense consistency that doesn’t feel sticky and moisturizes lips, leaving them soft and hydrated for hours. Unfortunately, it’s only available in Italy.

Believe it or not, I lost this lip balm! It’s somewhere in my apartment but I just can’t find it. I’ve been moaning for days. It’s my night time lip balm because it keeps my lips moist until the morning.

Dao, oh no! I hate it when that happens. I’m glad you like it too and I love how long it keeps lips moisturized. I can send you another one if you want to, you can always keep it as back up if you manage to find it. I was already thinking of sending you some Layla stuff anyway..

Mylanqolia, I can’t believe you hate Labello, I still love it! It’s not as good as this one but I love the variety of flavours available. But we can’t all like the same things after all. I know, it’s too bad this isn’t available worldwide, but if you ever want to try this (and other stuff from Italy) I’ll be glad to send it to you. :)

Shame on me but I do so. It started in my schoodays when all loved girls loved the blue one and used it nearly every minute to achieve glossy lips. Strange, right? 😉 Aynways, I’d love to swap with you, to be honest. I’m very curious to test some nice drugstore goodies from Italy. :-)

Mylanqolia, I’d like to do a swap with you. You have so many great drugstore stuff in Germany. :)
