I have to admit I have a soft spot for Max Factor and think their products are underrated, so when they release something new I’m always excited. Their latest offering is the Smoky Eye Eyeshadow, which will be out in September. It comes in six color combinations ranging from natural browns, smokey black and grey to brighter colors like greens and blues. The colors available are:
01 Purple Dust
03 Bronze Haze
04 Onyx Storm
06 Citrus Thunder
07 Indigo Mist
08 Silver Storm
The Smokey Eye Eyeshadows were created to make it easy and quick for everyone to create smokey eyes look, which are always tricky for newbies (I know it took me a while to master the technique!), thanks to two crayon-like precision tips. The pen, in fact, features a rounded head to effortlessly apply the lighter shade on the lid, and a second, darker and tapered, head to define the eye shape.
I love the idea of a pen eyeshadow with two tips and I think the colors are beautiful, but I’m not convinced application will be as easy as Max Factor claims. I tried similar eyeshadows in the past and I’ve always had problems applying and blending the shades, but I hope this time it’ll be different and they’ll work like a charm. But overall, I’m intrigued and when they’re out, I’ll definitely purchase one.

Vonvon, me too! Don’t they look lovely?
They look like CoverGirl eyeshadow blast. I haven’t try them out but I’ve heard they crease.

Dao, that’s too bad! I hope these don’t, although not being powders, they might.
Hey
Hate to tell you but they are the covergirl formula. P&G owns covergirl and max factor. They were both made in the same labs. I have tested both and they crease like mad! Apply powder if you can first. Also primer can make it worse! There are no polymers in the formula. Its just esters/oils. If I had to pick I would pick the max factor one for the shades.
Dana, hi, thanks for sharing. I know the two brands were owned by the same company but I was hoping they had improved the formula for these new ones, guess not… If they crease so much I might save my money afterall.. what a shame though, they looked so promising..
Beautiful colors, especially the teal/purple combo!
