Name: Infinito mascara
Brand: Collistar
Size: 11ml/0.37fl.oz.
Price: €20,50

From Collistar’s website:
Thick, voluminous, wonderfully curled and lustrous. Collistar Research presents a new-generation mascara that guarantees maximum definition and flawless hold for eye make-up that is absolutely perfect! Infinite volume, lightness with intense colour from the very first coat. Infinite curl with a special glossy effect. Infinite definition and precision: the applicator made from soft elastomer is the perfect tool for designing and defining the lashes, virtually multiplying them to infinity from the very first coat.

What I liked:
– intense black color with glossy finish
– adds length
- separates lashes well
- doesn’t clump
– the wand
– doesn’t smudge
– long-lasting
– classy packaging

What I didn’t like:
– doesn’t add much volume
– the price

I’ve always heard great things about Collistar mascaras, but I just wasn’t ready to fork out €20 for one without trying a sample first. After all, mascaras only last a few months and if I have to splurge on something I’m gonna discard soon, I need to know it’s truly worth its price tag. So, when I came across a kit that contained a couple of popular products from Collistar, including this mascara, at a very reasonable price, I knew that finally this was my chance to try it.

With a name like Infinito (Infinite), this mascara has a lot to live up to. It promises infinite volume, infinite length, infinite curl, infinite definition, intense color… to be the perfect mascara basically. But does it keep all of its promises? Sadly, not. It keeps only a few of them but I still think it is a pretty good mascara. First of all, I love the packaging: the gold tube looks classy, sleek and luxurious, just like you would expected an expensive mascara to look like.

The wand inside is practical and easy to use but different from that of most mascaras: on one side, the bristles are very short and that’s what you should use to apply it, while the other side has long bristles to comb the lashes and separate them. Something it does really well. You can also use it to get rid of clumps (although this mascara didn’t clump much). Plus, the wand is thin and not too long with makes it easier to control it and coat each lash, even the smallest, hardest to reach ones, with a glossy but intense and rich black color.

I also noticed that the mascara made my lashes a lot longer, making them stand out but in quite a natural way, so you could wear this both during the day and at night. Unfortunately though, it didn’t add that much volume and as for the curl.. it didn’t provide any, so you’d better use an eyelash curler instead if that’s what you want. But at least it stays put from morning to night and doesn’t smudge even in this torrid weather. Overall, not a dramatic mascara as it promises to be, but still a pretty good one if you like natural but noticeable lashes and don’t mind the price tag.

Summary
Overall, Collistar Infinito is a good mascara that adds length, separation, definition and a rich black color. It lasts long without smudging but it doesn’t volumize nor curls lashes. It doesn’t give a dramatic effect as promised, still the results are beautiful and defined lashes that stand out while looking natural. However, I think it’s pricey for what it actually does.

Rating: 4/5

Anastacia, I agree. At least the result is lovely, even if not as dramatic as promised.

Xin, I completely agree! I guess if that’s the effect you’re looking for and you don’t mind splurging, then this is a nice choice. But for that price, it should have performed better imo.
