Name: Nail Polish in Tea Rose, Petite and Vampira
Brand: Eyeko
Size: 8.5ml
Price: £3.50 each

From Eyeko’s website:
Eyeko Polish features a nail friendly formula that is Toluene, Formaldehyde, DBP and Camphor FREE! No Colour fade thanks to UV absorbers and an amazing glossy, chip resistant finish which strengthens nails too!

What I liked:
– beautiful and wearable shades
– creamy and easy to apply, no streaks
– big 3 free
– easy to remove
– last 4 days without a top coat
– the pretty packaging
– the price

What I didn’t like:
– Petite is very sheer so if you don’t like that, this is not for you
– Vampira is slightly harder to remove compared to the other two shades

A few days ago, the lovely people at Eyeko sent me some of their nail polishes for review and I’ve been playing with them ever since. I didn’t know what to expect from them, but boy, I was very impressed. The polishes come in small and pretty bottles that contain 3.8ml of product and I love that the formula is free of Formaldehyde, Toluene and Dibutyl Phtalate. Here’s the colors I was sent:

I fell in love with Tea Rose the moment I set my eyes on it. I’m a sucker for pink nail polishes and this one is different from all the others I have. I can’t really find anything similar to it in my stash. It is a beautiful and creamy dusty rose that’s not too bright and very wearable even for the office. Out of all the 3, this is the most pigmented and only requires one coat for an opaque, streak-free application. Oh, and those white spots you see on the nails are just the light, not chips!

Petite is a very sheer pale pink shade. With one coat, you can barely see the color and after three, it is still semi-transparent and you can still see the nail bed underneath (although from afar it looks opaque). Personally, I wasn’t too keen on this shade at first, but over the few days I’ve worn it, it really grew on me. It’s not as pretty as the other two shades I received, but it’s very soft and feminine and would be perfect for a French manicure or for ladies that want only a shiny but clean look.

Vampira is the star out of the bunch and definitely my favourite one. It is a beautiful black chock full of sparkly red glitter. (Please excuse the application. I took the picture before cleaning up all the mistakes). From a distance Vampira looks just like any black polish, but once you get close and can see the red glitters, it looks a lot more interesting and cool. And wait until it hits the light: the effect is breathtaking. It’s a very sexy, dark but glamorous and edgy color that’s fully opaque in only two coats.

All three shades have a quite thick but easy to apply formula that makes the polishes go on smoothly, without streaks nor bubbles and last for a few good days. When applied alone, I only experienced minimal chipping after four days but I think you could make them last longer if you use a good top coat. And when it was time to remove them, Petite and Tea Rose came off easily. Only Vampire took a little more effort, but being a dark shade with glitter, that was to be expected.

Available at: Eyeko.com

Summary
Overall, Eyeko Nail Polishes in Tea Rose, Petite & Vampira are great quality polishes at an affordable price. The colors are beautiful and, with the exception of Petite which is very sheer, provide opaque coverage in one or two coats. Their formula is easy to apply without streaks, is Big 3 free and lasts four days alone (longer if you use a top coat). They’re easy to remove but Vampira takes a bit more work to come off.

Rating: 4.5/5

Tea Rose and Vampira look awesome. I want them both. It’s just a shame Petite is so sheer. Blech.

Trisha, those are my favourites too, the swatch so does not make it justice, it’s so pretty and sparkly!

As for Petite, my initial reaction was the same as you. I didn’t like it all cos of the sheerness, but it grew on me after a couple of days. Although that may be because it’s pink and I love all things pink. I can see it working for people that want natural nails but others will be put off by the sheerness.
