Product Review: Eyeko Graffiti Eyeliner Pen in Navy Blue

Name: Graffiti Eyeliner Pen in Navy Blue
Brand: Eyeko
Price: £5.00

From Eyeko’s website:
Emphasize your eyes in one quick stroke! The precision brush nib is super easy to control to draw on thick or thin lines. Eyeko Graffiti Eyeliner Pen is smudge-proof, fade-proof and long lasting!

What I liked:
– beautiful and pigmented shade
– easy to apply
– creates both thin and thick lines
– long-lasting
– smudge-proof (once it dries)
– the packaging
– the price

What I didn’t like:
– if you’ve never used an eyeliner pen, application may be a bit tricky at first
– no way of knowing how much product is left in it

As you probably know by now, I adore eyeliners, especially colored ones, but not having a particularly steady hand, I tend to stick to pencils as I find them easier to apply. So when Eyeko sent me their eyeliner pencil to review, I was a bit worried that applying it would be tricky. But was I right to be worried?

The Graffiti Eyeliner Pen looks like a felt marker pen. It has a thin, kinda stiff point that makes it easy to draw both thin and thick lines as well as winging them out. The first couple of times I used it, I did find it a bit hard to create a straight line, but as soon as I got the hang of it, it applied very smoothly and created a precise line. Also, for easier application, Eyeko recommends to dot it on the lid as close as possible to the lashline and then join the dots together and I agree: that makes application easier especially if you’ve never used this kind of eyeliners before.

The shade I have is Navy Blue, a dark and intense blue with excellent color payoff. Because the shade is so pigmented, one coat is all you need. I didn’t find the formula to be watery and once it dries (takes less than a minute), it just won’t budge. It becomes smudge-proof, waterproof and will just stay put all day. I’ve used it both with and without primer and in both cases, on my slightly oily lids, it lasted from morning to bedtime without fading. And when you decide it’s time to remove it, you will need to use a good oil-based makeup remover to do the job quick and efficiently.

Like all Eyeko products, the Graffiti Eyeliner Pen has cool and pretty packaging: it is decorated with little stars, hearts and butterflies which reflect the name well. The only problem I have with it is that there is no way of knowing how much product is left in it, but honestly, it doesn’t bother me much and it’s not really a big issue at all.

Summary
Overall I love Eyeko Graffiti Eyeliner Pen in Navy Blue. It has a fine pointed tip that delivers intense color that, once dried, it won’t budge, move or fade for the entire day. The thin tip is perfect to draw thin and thick lines and to wing them out. However, if you’ve never used an eyeliner pen before, application can be a bit tricky at first.

Dao, I’ve never paid them much attention either as I was worried they were tricky to use, but they’re not. You can get the hang of it quite easily. I really like this pen and it’s definitely one of the most pigmented eyeliners I’ve ever tried.

Tavia, I’m quite new to eyeliners. I’ve only started using them regularly like one and a half years ago. I thought they were hard to apply so didn’t bother with them for a long time, but they’re easy to use once you get a bit of practice. This eyeliner is also available in black, brown and purple.

thanks for this review, you’re right about not knowing when you finish the product !I have similar one from Jessie’s girl and its just difficult to use since its not as pigmented as I want it to be :D

Nikki, that’s a shame, I only have a couple of eyeshadows from Jesse’s Girl but I find their pigmentation quite poor. This one instead is super pigmented, so you wouldn’t find it difficult to use. :)

ooh, that looks fantastic! Really pigmented! I’ve tried so many pen eyeliners and they’ve been disappointments after disappointments. Even the MAC Penultimate was a let down. I’ll definitely have to look into this!

Connie, I’m sorry a lot of eyeliner pens don’t work for you but I’m sure you’ll like this one. It is very pigmented (swatch was done with one coat only, no primer!) and it’s on, it just won’t move or smudge, not even in the hot and humid weather we’re having at the moment. :)

Anastacia, the color is very pretty indeed. Do they? I never tried this type of eyeliner before, I hope it’ll last long.

Pinch, I’m sure you’d love it. It is so pigmented and longlasting. And the packaging’s cute too. :)
