Do you buy beauty products even if you know they won’t work for you?

Beautiful with Brains says: I’ve bought some bronzers in the past that I knew were too dark for my skintone but I was hoping against hope that they would work anyway. It’s so hard to find a good bronzer when you have very pale skin. They were all cheap though. But apart from that, I can resist the urge of buying a product if I know I’m not gonna use it. I don’t care how cute the packaging is, how pretty the color or cheap the price. I buy makeup to wear it and if I don’t use it, what’s the point of buying it? I’d just be wasting money.

I used to buy a lot of things I didn’t need when I started wearing makeup. Now, I rarely buy things anymore because they do take up space and I don’t want to throw things away.

Dao, I used to be like that too. I would buy lots of things thinking that I needed them when I didn’t and most of them expired before I had the chance to use them properly. So these days I tend to buy only what I know I’m gonna use and need.

Well, not if I know for SURE, but it’s rare that I feel that way. I mean, I can always rationalize purchasing something, even if it MIGHT not work. Ya know? Because I like beauty products. :P

Trisha, I can so relate to that. Us beauty addicts know how to convince ourselves that we absolutely need to try something even if we don’t lol. :)

I can’t bring myself to buy products I know won’t work, even it they are pretty. It’s just a waste of money. Now, I waste money on lots of things, but some of these beauty bits and bobs are hella pricey. So, I try to save myself some hassle by getting samples of things I’m not sure about. If I can’t take a sample home, then it’s a no for me.

Tammy, I like what you do. Samples are a great way of trying something and see if the product works for you. It’s a shame that not every store or company is willing to give away samples easily, but I guess it’s their loss in the end. :)
