Orly Cosmix Fall 2010 Collection

I’ll be honest with you. Nail polish very rarely excites me but the new Orly Collection for fall 2010 has completely got me hooked, line and sinker. Just look at the pictures and tell me you don’t love the new limited editions colors and textures of this. Apparently, Orly has come up with an exclusive MINERAL FX technology that infuses mineral like mica for a bright shine and a rich purlescence, crystals for multi-dimensional colors and glass particles for a luminous appearance.

All of this to “deliver multi-dimensional flashes of intense shimmering shine that is so electrifying your nails will explode with color!” The nail polishes will be available from September and will retail at $10.00 each. Here’s the colors description:

Lunar Eclipse: blue with pink purple FX
Galaxy Girl: purple with blue green FX
It’s Not Rocket Science: green with gold blue FX
Space Cadet: green with purple gold FX
Halley’s Comet: turquoise with green yellow FX
Out of This World: purple with pink silver FX

Orly Plastix Fall 2010 Collection

But that’s not all what Orly has in store for us for this fall. Although not as exciting as Cosmix, the Plastix collection features four bright shades with a new unique glossy matte “plastic” finish. Although the colors don’t look all that interesting in the promo pix, the shiny but rubbery finish intrigues me.

If you’re interested in trying them, these will available in shops from July and retail at $7.50 each. The available shades are:

Viridian Vinyl: glossy blue-green
Purple Pleather: shiny purple
Old School Orange: classic orange
Retro Red: traditional red

The Cosmix ones look interesting – esp. the first one! I saw the Plastix ones in the store last week (guess they showed up early at Ulta) and I tried on the purple one but it didn’t look plastic-like to me. It was like a slight shiny matte (if that even makes sense) but it didn’t look plasticy. I only tried on one coat, though.

Jeni, that purple is indeed beautiful! I’d have a hard time choosing what to get from the Cosmix collections, they are all beautiful and I want them all. :)

That’s great that the Plastix collection is already available in some stores. It’s a shame they didn’t look plasticy, I was so curious to see a nail polish like that. But the shiny matte finish still intrigues me. Thanks for sharing. :)

I hope that P2 does dupes of the duochromatic shades. The 1st and the 4th one look amazing!

Mylanqolia, they’re beautiful aren’t they? They are very unique shades but it’s be great if P2 and other brands did something similar. :)
