Bourjois Coup De Theatre Mascara

I’m always on the lookout for the perfect mascara and Bourjois’ new one has really caught my eye. Coup De Theatre ($18.00) is a double-ended mascara that promises a false lashes look with minimal efforts. On one side there’s a white microfiber base coat that lengthens and thickens lashes, on the other a dark top coat to add volume, depth, and shine. I’m also digging the black and white packaging, which I think is edgy and cool.

Bourjois Kohl & Contour Eye Pencils

Being a huge eyeliner fan, I couldn’t leave you without mentioning the Kohl & Contour Eye Pencils ($13.50). They are said to have a soft texture that glides on gently, delivering a precise line in only one stroke that lasts all day. They are available in 5 beautiful shades: Ultra Black, Gris Ingénieux, Prune Moderne, Bronze Raffiné and Bleu Virtuose. I’m really liking the grey in the picture and the bronze one sounds very pretty too.

What do you think of these products?

Bourjois mascara hasn’t worked for me and I am scared to try any from it. This mascara hasn’t received many good reviews though.

Jojoba, what a shame. Finding a good mascara is so hard. They either lenghten, give volume or curl but rarely do all these things together. :( To be honest, I haven’t see many reviews about it, only one from the Muse and she liked it. I’m sad to hear many were not positive though.

I have often used the double ended mascara from Bourjois’, I think they have changed the name of the product from its original launch years ago, buts its essentially the same. The white mascara really thickens and lengthens, however the danger is the lashes can look a bit clumpy from too much overload of product…. practice makes perfect….not too pricy either. I love the Bourjois’ range, but wouldn’t recommend it for a make up beginner.

Dita, thank you for your experience with the mascara. It sounds pretty good but it’s a shame it clumps. I’m still interested in trying though as I find I would be able to apply it right with a bit of practice.

I have some bourjois eyeliner pencils, but barely use them. The old Kohl&Contour pencils tend to smudge, even with a primer, and they are a bit harsh.I have it in (02) Gris Ingeniux, and (03) Brun Expressif. The 02 is a black, but more on the greyish side, not a true black, the 03 is a warm chocolate brown.
I also have two of the Metallisé line,(51) Noir effet miroir and (54) Bleu clinquant. They’re supposed to be waterproof,so they’re much better than the Khol&Contour ones.51 is a black with a light silvery shimmer, while 54 is a vibrant turqoise.
I have one more, which is from the Contour Clubbing Waterproof line, and this is my favourite:D It’s called (43) Green Insomniak, and is a lovely dark forest green, with a little sheen to it.
Sorry for the long comment, hope I could help a bit:)

Babicsek, thank you for your comment and sharing your experience with the liners, it’s very helpful. It’s a shame the Kohl & Contour liners smudge. I guess they won’t perform well at all in the hot and humid weather we are experiencing here at the moment. That green from the Contour Clubbing Waterproof instead sounds wonderful. I love greens and I think I’ll have to try this one, thanks.
