Essie Summer Collection 2010

Essie Summer Collection consists of 6 beautiful fun and bold shades inspired by the youthful and flirty clothes we all wear in the summer when the weather is cold and we can finally get rid of wool sweater and coats. Here’s more details:

Demure Vixen: iridescent cocoa mauve
Haute As Hello: coral
Knockout Pout: hot pink
Miss Matched: sheer pink
Pretty Edgy: vivid palmetto green
Vermillionaire: red orange

My favourites are Pretty Edgy, a beautiful bold green and Knockout Pout, a fun hot pink shade. What are yours?

China Glaze Vintage Vixen Fall 2010

I know it’s insane to talk about fall collections when summer hasn’t even officially started. And it’s even more insane that a fall collection is being released internationally in June and in the USA in July. But despite this, the new China Glaze collection is stunning. Vintage Vixen captures the vivid and saturated hues of the 1940’s with 12 rich, sophisticated and multi-faceted shades:

Bogie: plum frost with shimmer
Classic Camel: khaki crème with gold micro glitter
Emerald Fitzgerald: turquoise green frost with shimmer
First Class Ticket: deep purple frost with shimmer
Foxy: burgundy frost with shimmer
Goin’ My Way: brown frost with copper shimmer
Hey Doll: rose frost with shimmer
Ingrid: “greige” crème with copper micro glitter
Jitterbug: grey chrome with silver micro glitter
Midnight Mission: navy blue frost with silver micro glitter
Riveter Rouge: deep red shimmer
Swing Baby: taupe frost with silver micro glitter

I’m loving the entire collection but my favourite shade must be the green. It’s so pretty and chic. What about you?

I really don’t know what to say about Essie summer collection, I’ve seen those shades before in other collections and they are not something new for me. Essie nail polish is not chip resistant ( a few exceptions can be made). I’ve seen that shade of green before, beautiful indeed but there’s not new. :)

Tavia, I’ve just started to get into nail polish and don’t have many in my collections so I find the collection to be very pretty. But I see your point as the shades aren’t that unique and I guess nail polish lovers will already have dupes in their stash. And it’s too bad they’re not very chip-resistant but I guess a top coat would help them last a bit longer.
