QOTW: Are eyebrows important to you?

Are eyebrows important to you?

Beautiful with Brains says: yes, I think eyebrows can make or break a look. Groomed ones frame the face and make you look polished, while messy, wonky brows can ruin the eye makeup and make you look sloppy. I’m blessed with nice-looking brows (at least I like them lol), so I just need to tweeze them once in a while to keep them looking good.

  1. Like you, I’m not overly OCD with my eyebrows. I tweeze once in a while to keep them looking smooth and nice. I’m not into pencil thin eyebrows though, they make me look old!

  2. Wow, are those your brows? ‘Cause they’re perfect! I also appreciate a good brow – sadly I’m never quite happy with mine. I wish I weren’t so critical of brows, so I’d relax more about my own :P But yeah, like you say they do really frame the face and can make a huge difference.

  3. Dao, I think that while it is important to have nice and groomed brows, you should enhance your natural shape, not change it completely. I’m not too keen on overtweezing brows so that you only have a thin line or penciled eyebrows. Only very few people can pull them off. But for most people, I think tweezing them every now and then to keep them looking nice is enough, especially if they have naturally-pretty brows like you.

  4. Dee, you have beautiful brows. I think it’s important to make sure your brows are nice before going out the door. I’m just thankful mine are low-maintainance. :)

  5. Pinch, unfortunately that’s not me, I wish though. Mine have a nice shape but they’re not that perfect. :) You shouldn’t be so critical of yourself, I think your brows are beautiful and frame your eyes so well :)

  6. Yes.

But I have to confess that when I first started playing with makeup, I hardly ever paid any attention to my brows *shame shame….

But a makeup artist friend introduced me to Stila Automatic Brow Definer and taught me how to draw my brows, I am hooked on it since. Though at the beginning I was rather clumsy at drawing, practice just makes perfect. OK, I am not reaching perfect yet, but getting better.

And once in a while, I would go to Shu Uemura brow atelier to have my brow fixed….or else……tiny hairs all over the lids, etc etc……brow disaster! ;)

  7. Tammy, it’s so easy to forget about brows, isn’t it, unless you’re in the habit of doing them daily. I think it’s time I do some tweezing too ;)

  8. Vonvon, I guess brows have started to get important only lately. I remember when I first started to wear makeup more then 10 years ago (I suddenly feel so old now lol!), no one cared about eyebrows at all. There weren’t any products for brows and no one to explain how to groom them. Thank goodness things have changed! Once you have your brows done once and you see the results, there’s no going back. I agree with you that practice makes perfect especially with brows. It’s not that easy to match them perfectly, somehow they have the tendency to come out uneven. :) But your brows are really nice and I can see from your photos that you’re good at grooming them. :)

  9. Well, eyebrows are important to me as I’m a spectacle wearer. Unfortunatey, my eyebrows aren’t as full, so I have to use an eyebrow pencil to make them more prominent. But sometimes I’m too lazy to do them (it’s in such situations if I’m too lazy for any make up), so I fix them with a gel. I still look human then but one can see that they aren’t dense. I admire your eyebrows. Good genes!

  10. Mylanqolia, my eyebrows aren’t too dense either but I like their shape and want them to look as natural as possible. But I like it how you do your eyebrows and I agree, they are even more important when you wear glasses. :)

  11. Extremely important!! A look is never complete without properly groomed brows and even if I’m not gonna wear a single scrap of makeup on my face, just having groomed brows makes a world of difference. My brows are rather sparse so I need to fill them in

  12. Connie, I agree with you. Eyebrows are very important and even if you don’t wear makeup you should always check they are well-groomed before going out. :)
