Hello everyone,
even though I love blue eyeshadows, I’ve been neglecting them for a while so I though it was high time I did another look with them. This time, I decided to pair blues with yellow. It’s not a common color combo but these shades go very well together and I’m pleased with how the look turned out.
The look actually reminds me of the beautiful spring and summer weather with the clear blue sky with no cloud in sight and the hot sun shining, hence the name for the look. I hope you’ll like it
Products used:
– Senna Totally Transforming Eyeshadow Primer
– Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
– Barry M Dazzle Dust #76 yellow
– Barry M Dazzle Dust #20 Baby Blue
– Sleek Chaos palette (light blue, bright medium blue and white)
– Pupa True Eyes eyeliner pencil in black
– Maybelline Volum Express Cat Eyes mascara
– YSL Teint Singulier Sheer Powdercreme Veil Foundation
– Max Factor Erace Concealer
– Pupa bronzer
– Senna Spot Lites Highlighting Pencil
– Senna Blush Powder in Dollface
– can’t remember which gloss I used, sorry!
Directions:
– Apply an eyeshadow primer (I used Senna Totally Transforming Eyeshadow Primer) all over the lid to create a base for the shades to adhere to and last longer.
– Apply Fyrinnae’s Pixie Epoxy (if you don’t have, you can skip this step) on the lid to make the colors really pop.
– Apply a bright yellow shade (I used Barry M Dazzle Dust #76 yellow) on the inner half of the lid. Using MAC 219 pencil brush, apply some on the inner half of the lower lashline too.
– Apply a light baby blue shade (I used Barry M Dazzle Dust #20 Baby Blue) on the crease. Using MAC 219 pencil brush, apply the same shade on the lower lashline and blend it with the yellow.
– Darken the crease with a brighter light blue (I used the one in the Sleek Chaos palette). Be careful not too blend the blue with the yellow on the lid and don’t bring it up too much either.
– Using a pencil brush like the MAC 219 and a bright medium blue eyeshadow (I used the one in the Sleek Chaos palette), draw a line on the crease, right in the socket bone where the lid ends and the crease starts (if that makes sense!). Blend lightly but not too much as we want a defined line there.
– Now, apply the same shade on the outer part of the lid and blend where it meets with the yellow. With MAC 219 pencil brush, apply it on the lower lashline above the blue and blend well.
– Use the same light baby blue shade you previously used to blend and soften the edges of the blue on the crease.
– Apply a matte white shade (I used the one in the Chaos palette) on the browbone to highlight.
– Line your upper lid and waterline with a black pencil liner (I used Pupa True Eyes eyeliner pencil in black) and apply mascara.
– On your face, apply concealer (I used Max Factor Erace Concealer) to cover dark circles and any other imperfection you may have, and then your usual foundation (I used YSL Teint Singulier Sheer Powdercreme Veil Foundation in no.5). If you need it, contour (I applied a bronzer in one of the Pupa palettes I have on my nose to make it look slimmer).
– Apply a sheer pink blush on the cheeks (I used Senna Powder Blush in Dollface).
– Highlight the cheekbones, middle of the nose and chin with a subtle champagne highlighter (I used Senna Spot Lites Highlighting Pencil) and finish the look by applying lipgloss.

Mylanqolia, thanks a lot! I used to be scared of using yellow shades cos I didn’t know what to do with them but they look great with a lot of colors like pinks, reds, oranges, blues. This is such a fun and summery combo and I think I should wear it more often.

Jojoba, I was wondering where you had gone to but I thought you were just busy with your move to Australia and all. But I’m so glad that you’re back. I’m sorry I don’t comment very often on your blog these days, but life is pretty hectic here at the moment. I always read all your posts though and will try to comment more often from now on.
Aww thanks.
