Name: True Colour Lipstick in Rose Petal
Brand: Sleek
Size: 3.5g
Price: £3.29

From Sleek’s website:
A superb highly-pigmented lipstick enriched with Vitamin E which leaves amazingly rich shades on the lips with only a single coat.

What I liked:
– beautiful shade
– pigmented
– quite moisturizing
– creamy texture
– longlasting
– the packaging
– the price

What I didn’t like:
– not moisturizing enough for those with dry lips so use a lip balm underneath

As my regular readers know, I’m a lipgloss girl. I don’t own many lipsticks and the ones I have I don’t use often. So, when I buy a new lippie I tend to go for inexpensive ones so that I don’t feel guilty about neglecting them. But little did I know when I ordered Sleek True Colour Lipstick in Petal Rose that I would have reached for it almost daily. Yep, I love it that much!

I am a massive fan of Sleek eyeshadows which are pigmented and longlasting and the True Colour Lipstick Range, which includes 15 shades, doesn’t disappointed either. But before I go on with the review, a word of warning: on Sleek’s website the swatches are very inaccurate and don’t look like the real thing at all so keep that in mind before purchasing.

The shade I have is called Petal Rose and it looked like a dark purplish pink on the website, but it is instead a beautiful antique rose pink with some really subtle golden undertones. It wasn’t the color I expected, it’s actually much better!

The shade is absolutely gorgeous. It is soft but very pigmented. The name True Colour is very appropriate as, with only one coat, the color looks exactly on the lips like it does in the tube. That’s not something we can say about a lot of lipsticks, is it?

Petal Rose is a very versatile shade that I can wear with anything. Whether I decide to do one of my crazy colorful looks, a smokey eye or something neutral, I can just apply Petal Rose and it will complement the look perfectly. And it has a very subtle shiny finish which I adore.

The texture is creamy, glides on smoothly and is fairly moisturizing. My lips are in good condition and I think this lipstick offers enough moisture for them, but if yours are dry, then I suggest you apply a lip balm underneath as this may feel a tad drying for you.

I have to admit though that I didn’t have very high expectations about the staying power of this lipstick but once again, I was surprised. It lasts about 5 or 6 hours on me, which is fairly long-lasting for a lipstick and even if you have a small bite to eat, it will stay put (it won’t survive a full meal though). Overall, another winner from Sleek!

Summary
Overall, I love Sleek True Colour in Petal Rose. The color is beautiful, pigmented, creamy and longlasting. And it’s so cheap too! I find the lipstick to be fairly moisturizing but not enough for those with dry lips.

Rating: 4.5/5

Pinch do try some Sleek products, you’ll love them I’m sure. I’m in love with their eyeshadows, they are so soft and pigmented and these lipsticks don’t disappoint either. They have great color payoff and are quite moisturizing. :)

Hi gio, I have always have this lipstick in mind since reading this review. But the price has increased to 3.99 when I saw it in Superdrug yesterday. Had wanted to get it but then, I am very slow at finishing lippies, be it lipstick or gloss….. Now in the process of finishing some lip glosses. This lippie will be on my wish list for sure. May be I will get it as a little reward for myself when I have finished those glosses. ;)

Vonvon, it seems like Sleek has been increasing their prices lately, even their palettes cost more. :( But they are still very cheap, especially when you consider how good the quality is. I hope they won’t increase again though.

I think this lipstick is a very versatile shade that can be used everyday with every look you create so you’ll get a lot of use out of it. But if you already have other lip products to finish, it can wait. It’s definitely gonna be a great way to reward yourself. :)
