Hello everyone,
todays’ look was a request from my dear friend Mylanqolia. She wanted me to do a very colorful look with a winged eyeliner so here it is. For the look, I’ve used lots of different shades, from yellows to blues, from oranges to purples with a touch of fuchsia too. It came out really colorful and bright and I was pleased with it. I hope you’ll like it too.
Also, shock, horror, I’m posting a full face picture this time. I’m nervous about it cos I’m not photogenic and look horrible in pix, but I thought it was about time I showed my ugly mug on here. Please, excuse the horrible blush application. I’ve applied more than usual cos I was afraid the flash would completely wash it out otherwise.
Also, I forgot to write down the items I used on my face. Sorry about that, I’ll be more careful next time, but at least you can see the whole effect of the look. Well, enough of me talking, here’s the pix:
Products used:
– Senna Totally Transforming Eyeshadow Primer
– Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
– Beauty From The earth eyeshadow in Lemon
– Sleek Bohemian palette (matte yellow, dark blue)
– Beauty From the Earth eyeshadow in Tangerine
– Barry M Dazzle Dust #86 Pink Shimmer
– Fyrinnae Nevermore eyeshadow
– Fyrinnae Arcane Magic eyeshadow in Faerie Glamour
– Sleek Curious palette (white, bright blue)
– Essence Quattro Eyeshadow palette in Party Animal (light blue)
– Pupa True Eyes eyeliner pencil in black
– Prestige Eyeliner pencil in Kiwi
Directions:
– Apply an eyeshadow primer (I used Senna Totally Transforming Eyeshadow Primer) all over the lid to create a base for the shades to adhere to and last longer.
– Apply Fyrinnae’s Pixie Epoxy (if you don’t have, you can skip this step) on the lid to make the colors really pop.
– Apply a bright yellow shade (I used Beauty From the Earth eyeshadow in Lemon) on the inner part of the lid. Using MAC 219 pencil brush, apply the same shade in the inner lower lashline.
– Apply a slightly brighter, matte yellow (I used the one in the Sleek Bohemian palette) on the middle part of the lid and blend.
– Apply an orange shade (I used Beauty From The Earth eyeshadow in Tangerine) on the outer part of the lid and blend where it meets the yellow.
– Sweep a fuchsia shade (I used Barry M Dazzle Dust #86 Pink Shimmer) on the outer V and crease.
– Apply a bright purple eyeshadow (I used Fyrinnae’s Nevermore) on the crease.
– Sweep a light purple with aqua shimmer (I used Fyrinnae Arcane Magic eyeshadow in Faerie Glamour) on the crease between the purple and the browbone and blend very well to soften any harsh lines.
– Now, using the same Fuchsia shade you use before, blend any the purples on the lid and the browbone to soften any harsh lines.
– Apply a white shade (I used the one in the Sleek Curious palette) on the browbone to highlight.
– Using MAC 219 pencil brush, sweep a matte dark blue shade (I used the one in the Sleek Bohemian palette) on the outer lower lashline.
– Using MAC 219 pencil brush, sweep a brighter but lighter blue shade (I used the one in the Sleek Curious palette) on the middle lower lashline and blend well.
– Using MAC 219 pencil brush, apply a pale blue shade (I used the one in Essence Quattro Eyeshadow palette in Party Animal) on the inner lower lashline and blend where it meets the yellow and darker blue shades.
– Using a black pencil liner (I used Pupa True Eyes eyeliner pencil in black) line your lid and wing it.
– Apply a green pencil liner (I used Prestige Eyeliner pencil in Kiwi) on the waterline.

Lol, you don’t look very happy in the picture…(I like your hair color though).

I see your full picture at the first time
Nice eotd’s! Looks very nice and colorful!

Citrine, I know! For some reason, I always look miserable or moody in pictures, even when I’m happy and smiling. I don’t know why, I guess the camera doesn’t love me. And thanks.
Anastacia, I thought that after almost 2 years of blogging, it was about time I showed my face.
Thanks, I’m glad you like it.
Oh my goodness, I hope you’re joking about not being photogenic…you look pretty! I find it hard to smile properly in photographs too. It usually comes out as a smirk. I think that says something about me o.0
Anyway. I love this look. Especially the contrast between the purple and the lighter colours

Fantastic! Very cool look — I love the blue under your eyes, it highlights and emphasizes your eye shape perfectly! And I’m so glad you posted a full face look because it gives me an idea of how to balance a look like that and shows how wearable those colours actually are! Fabulous
you’re beautiful, Gio! And the blush color looks really good. Ah, camwhoring takes practice. I actually consulted and learned from a friend who has over 500 pictures of herself in her phone (not including those already transferred into the computer).

Yay! We finally see how you look like and you’re gorg!
I must try something colourful like this some day. Happy weekend Gio

Simone, thank you. I don’t think I’m photogenic because I always look sad or moody in pictures and when I smile, it turns out horribly. But you look gorgeous!
I’m glad you like the look and I tried to leave the purple in the crease defined and not blend it too much to accentuate the contrast and I think it didn’t turn out too bad.
B, thanks a lot. And I’m glad you found the full face picture helpful. I think such bright looks are a lot more wearable than what most people think. You just need to tone down the rest of the face so that the focus is on the eyes and you don’t look too overly done.
Connie, thank you! I’m glad you like the blush too. Because I have pale skin, I’m always paranoid about blush, for fear of applying too much and looking like a clown.
Wow, that’s A LOT of pictures! She must really like camwhoring. I’m glad she helped you. Now I think I’d better start practicing too!
Paris, thank you! Oh, I would love to see you try something this colorful, I’m sure it’d look great on you! Colorful looks can be very wearable if you keep the rest of your makeup subtle and natural.
Thanks and happy weekend to you too!
Thank you for sharing this look and it’s nice to see your face
Nice colorful EOTD! And got to see you now! Hope to see more of your FOTDs.
Taking your own photos really needs a lot of practice. When I looked back at my earlier FOTDs, not only did the makeup looked so amateurish (not that they look so professional now ;P), I wasn’t as photogenic either, and the shot angles were quite off.
Practice makes perfect!

Marina, thanks and you’re welcome.
I think I need to show my face more often
Vonvon, thanks. I’m glad you like it and I hope to post more FOTDs soon.
And your makeup always looks beautiful! But I know what you mean, taking good pictures is hard. If you take them at the wrong angle or with the wrong lightening, it can make eyeshadow look like it’s not well blended or like you applied too much blush etc. My boyfriend is a budding photographer and is helping me a lot. Now, I just need A LOT more practice.
Tavia, that was meant to be a happy face.
I don’t know why I always looks so sad in pictures, but I’ll work on it
Wow.Wow.Wow. It’s superb you’ve done it. I just felt in love with this AMAZING colour combo. Damn, lady, you got the skillz to blend! And I also applaud for the liner! Damn, you can try out the cat eye look, hon, coz you have sultry eyes. Da capo! As for the full face pic: Why don’t you smile, sweetie (I know that you hate this quessie but I’ve learned from it as I have to listen to it very often, too)? You’re very pretty coz you have an enviable bone structure. I’m sure that you can easily recreate catwalk looks which look absolutely ridiculous on me. Shall we change faces? Maybe just for 1 day?

Mylanqolia, I’m sorry it took me so long to post it but I’m so happy you like it.
Thank you! This was one of the most complicated looks I’ve done (mainly because I’ve used so many colors) and it took me ags to blend everything but I’m very pleased with the end result. And I’m slowly becoming a pro at winging my eyeliner and it’s all because of you that encourage me to try new things, so thank you!
That’s ok, I don’t mind you asking that and you’e right, that’s how we learn and improve, so I’m always open to suggestions and constructive criticism.
I tried taking pictures of me smiling but they didn’t come out too good, so I had to post this one. But I’m definitely gonna experiment with poses, angles and all that to find how I look best in pix. I didn’t mean to look so sad, I wasn’t down or anything that day. If anything, such a bright look cheered me up. My boyfriend says that I’m too self-conscious when I know someone is taking a picture of me and that’s why I look miserable. I think I just need some practice.
But you look gorgeous hun! You have beautiful eyes and really pretty features. I wouldn’t mind swapping faces with you, esp if I get to wear those artistic looks you do that I know I could never recreate myself
I’m glad you did a full face photo so I can see how wearable the colors are. And you have a beautiful face
Very nice look, it looks great on you
*Gasp* Gio reveals her face! How exciting ^_^ And you are NOT ugly! Your skin *glows* – I’m jealous!
And now on to the actual makeup – I love the little pop of orange on your lids! You are so creative with your EOTDs.

Alaina, thank you.
I’m glad the full face photo helped you see how wearable bright colors are. It’s not hard to pull them off if you keep the rest of your face soft and natural.
Rebecca, lol. I think me showing my face was long overdue haha
Aww, thank you! But that’s the foundation and highlighter I’m wearing that’s making my skin glow.
I’m glad that you like the makeup too. I like to experiment with crazy color combos all the time. It doesn’t always come out nice but this time I think it looked good.
