Name: Lip Attitude Glamour in Dreaming Plum
Brand: Sephora
Size: 0.14oz
Price: $12.00
From Sephora’s website:
Hydrating, semi-sheer lipstick. Rich color can still be natural looking. This unique formula combines long-lasting wear, vibrant color, and moist, see-through color. The effect is nothing short of naturally glamorous.
What I liked:
– sheer shade with wet look finish
– creamy and moisturizing texture
– doesn’t dry lips
– not sticky
– the price
What I didn’t like:
– if you like pigmented shades, this is not for you
– doesn’t last long
– bulky packaging
Even though I am a lipgloss girl, I still like to try some new lipsticks every now and then, especially when the price isn’t too high and they have a creamy, not drying texture. And that’s the thing that impressed me the most about the Sephora Lip Attitude Glamour lipsticks: their texture.
It is creamy so that the lipstick glides on smoothly and effortlessly and it feels moisturizing on the lips, also thanks to castor oil, an oil derived from castor bean that has water-binding properties, keeping skin hydrated. Unlike most lipsticks, this doesn’t dry my lips and it also doesn’t feel sticky at all.
Available in 20 shades, Sephora claims they combine rich and vibrant colors with sheer, see-through colors. I’m a bit confused about that because I can’t see how a see-through color can be rich and vibrant at the same time, unless they mean that the color looks rich in the tube and see-through on the lips, which is certainly true in this case .
I have #11 Dreaming Plum, a shimmery shade which looks searingly dark purple plum in the tube, but on the lips it provides the lightest hint of plum shade, letting my natural lip color show through. I’m not really a fan of very sheer lippies so despite its claims I was hoping this would pack on a bit more color considering how dark it looks in the tube, but overall it’s still a very pretty shade.
I guess you could always layer it a few times to get the desired intensity but considering how little this lasts on the lips, I just ain’t going to bother. Not that I was expecting it to last all day. After all, lip products rarely last for hours, but this must be one of the least long-lasting products I have ever tried. If you decide to buy it, be prepared to having to reapply it A LOT throughout the day.
What I like about the gloss though was the wet, luscious finish it gave to my lips. Even though this is a lippie, once on the lips it looks and feels more like a hydrating gloss. And it smells and tastes nice too. It has a fruity scent that is appealing and not overpowering.
Summary
If you’re looking for a moisturizing and sheer gloss with a wet finish, then give this a try. But be aware that you’ll have to reapply it a lot as it fades fast.

I kind of like the way it looks but it would be better if it shows up more purply though.

That’s a very nice purple shade! But it looked kind of sheer on the lips.

Citrine, I agree with you. It’s a nice shade but I wish it’d look more like that in the tube. That would have been much prettier. *sighs*
Vonvon, this is very sheer, one of the sheerer lip products I have ever tried. It’s a shame considering how dark and pretty it looks in the tube, but at least the sheerness makes it very safe and wearable.
It looks so dark on tube but very pretty and moisturizing on your lips!
The color of the lipstick doesn’t match the color on your lips. I think it looks hot on you!.. hehe~

Nikki, that summarizes everything perfectly
I just wish it lasted longer.
Ahleessa, thanks. The color on the lips looks completely different from that in the tube. I guess these were made for people who like natural makeup but still wanted to play with darker shades.
