Hello everyone,
last week I review Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Jones, a medium orange shade with golden undertones, claiming that it is very wearable. So, my lovely blogger friend Ahleessa, requested a EOTD so that I could show how to pull this off. I know that orange shades are hard to pull off for most people and those that love neutral looks would probably never consider this color, but as you can see from the pictures below (please excuse the bad indoor lightening), you can still do some very wearable looks with Jones.
Also, my dear friend Mylanqolia wanted me to do a look with a winged eyeliner, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to fulfill both requests.
I don’t do a winged eyeliner often so the result wasn’t too good, but I hope you still enjoy. And if you have any other requests, please let me know and I’ll try my best to fulfill them too.
Products used:
– Senna Totally Transforming Eyeshadow Primer
– Lumiere Beauty Bar Eye Pigment in Honey Bronze
– Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Jones
– NYC Metro Quartet Palette in Union Square (warm medium brown and pale gold)
– Pupa black pencil eyeliner
– Max Factor Masterpiece Max Mascara
Directions:
– Apply an eyeshadow primer (I used Senna Totally Transforming Eyeshadow Primer) all over the lid as a base.
– Swipe a reddish brown with golden shimmers (I used Lumiere Beauty Bar Pigment in Honey Bronze) on the inner lid and inner lower lashline.
– Apply a medium orange shade (I used Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Jones) in the middle of the lid and lower lashline and blend where the colors meet.
– Apply a warm medium brown shade (I used the one in the NYC Metro Quartet Palette in Union Square) on the outer lid and outer lower lashline and blend where it meets with the orange.
– Swipe a pale golden shade (I used the one in the NYC Metro Quartet Palette in Union Square) on the browbone to highlight.
– Line your upper lid with a pencil liner and wing it out.
– Finish off with mascara.
But being a huge fan of bold and colorful makeup, I usually use Jones to create fun, vibrant and colorful looks and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to show you one of those too, could I? So, for those of you there aren’t afraid of colors and bold makeup, here’s another way for you to rock Jones
Products Used:
– Senna Totally Transforming Eyeshadow Primer
– Fyrinnae Pixy Epoxy
– Beauty From The Earth Eyeshadow in Lemon
– Barry M Dazzle Duste #76 yellow
– Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Jones
– Sleek Curious eyeshadow palette (white + bright medium green)
– Jesses’s Girl Color My World Baked Eyeshadow in Volcanic
– Barry M Intense Eyeliner Pen in Kingfisher Blue
– Pupa True Eyes Pencil Eyeliner in black
– Maybelline Cat Eyes Mascara
Directions:
– Apply a primer (I used Senna Totally Transforming Eyeshadow Primer) all over the lid to create a base for the shadows to better adhere to. Then, apply Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy on top of that to make the eyeshadows more vibrant. (You can skip the Pixie Epoxy if you want, but if you’re a fan of bold and vibrant colors, then you need this in your life!)
– Apply a bright yellow shade (I used Beauty From The Earth in Lemon) on the inner part of the lid.
– Now, pat a slightly more vibrant and darker yellow shade (I used Barry M Dazzle Dust #76 in yellow) on the middle part of the lid and blend where it meets with the paler shade.
– Apply a medium orange shade (I used Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Jones) on the outer part of the lid and blend where it meets with the yellow shade.
– Swipe a white shade (I used the one in the Curious Sleek palette) on the browbone to highlight. Using MAC 219 pencil brush, apply the same shade on the tearduct and the inner lower lashline.
– Apply a reddish pink shade (I used Jesses’s Girl Color My World Baked Eyeshadow in Volcanic) on the middle lower lashline and blend where it meets with the white.
– Always using a pencil brush, apply a bright medium green (I used the one in the Sleek Curious palette) on the outer lower lashline and blends where it meets with the reddish pink shade.
– Line your upper lid with a light blue eyeliner (I used Barry M Intense Pen Eyeliner in Kingfisher Blue. I know it looks more green than blue in the pix, but that’s probably because of the yellow and orange underneath slightly changing the color.).
– Apply a black pencil Liner (I used Pupa True Eyes in black) on the waterline.
– Finish off with mascara.

Love the wing-ing in the 1st EOTD!
And the 2nd EOTD is my fav of the 2! Lovely combi of orange, yellow and green/blue. Bright and colorful!

I saw the first look and thought it was beautiful and then I saw the second and was blown away! Bright looks definitely suit you well and Jones looks great on you. The orange tones in the shadow really brings out your eyes. I LOVE IT<3

Vonvon, thanks. I rarely wear a winged eyeliner so I’m glad it didn’t turn out too bad.
I’m glad that you love the second look as well. That’s my favourite too and the colors remind me of summer.
Jamilla, thank you, I’m glad you like them
Dee, thanks, you’re too kind. I think bright looks suit my pale skin better which is great cos I adore them lol. That’s how I usually use Jones cos it warms up the eye area without making it look dull, which some oranges can do. But I also wanted to show how versatile this shade was and that it can be used for natural, safe looks that you can wear during the day, even at school and at work. This is an orange pretty much anyone can wear
I like bright/bold looks, too, so I prefer the second look
But I agree that the first is very wearable, almost neutral. And I like the way you did the eyeliner

Simone, thank you. I love how versatile this shade is and that can be used for natural looks as well as bold ones.
Winged eyeliner! How cool! You look chic. Now if only I have steady hands for that
Thanks so much for doing a winged liner!!! You rock. I have to say that you can do more looks with a winged liner because it flatters your eye shape a lot. And don’t say that the outcome wasn’t good. I’m sure you haven’t seen my first attempts of doing this liner shape.
Aynways, please promise me to do a funky colourful eye make up (the 2nd one is also my fave the colour combo is ace!) with a winged liner next time. I’d love you and your blog for this even more! XOX

Mylanqolia, thanks, I’m glad you like the looks. The plan was to do a winged eyeliner on the second look but at the last minute I decided to use the Barry M liner (which has a rectractable point that can’t be sharpened) cos I thought that color would have looked great with the e/s combo but the problem was that I found it hard to do a winged liner with that. Using normal pencils is just easier for me to do a winged eyeliner with. I don’t do a winged eyeliner often but I have to say I quite like how it looks (wasn’t sure I could rock it) so I think I’ll do more looks with it in the future.
All Women Stalker, thank you. You just need practice hun. I’m still learning how to use eyeliner and this was one of my rare attempts at a winged liner. If I can do it, so can you
