Do you use toner?
Beautiful With Brains says: sometimes, when I remember to buy it lol. I like the fresh feeling toners give and, after you’re removed your makeup, using a cotton pad soaked with toner can be very handy to see if your cleanser has done a good job or if you still have some traces of makeup on your face. But apart from that, I don’t see any difference in how my skin looks and feels when I stop using a toner so, most of the time, I’d rather spend the money on something else.

hey Gio!
I used to use toner as part of Clinique’s famous 3 step system but I felt it made my skin more oily, dunno how that works but once I ditched it my skin seemed reasonable. Strange, huh? From then on I never touched toners
I use a soothing one (simple) in the morning just to calm my skin from irritations and one with hyaluronic acid (Hada Labo) to hydrate

I use toner occasionally, when I’m removing heavy duty makeup…it seems to get just that last bit. I always make sure it’s alcohol free.

Yes, I do! I think, I could never do without, since I feel the moisturizer is much better absorbed, when I use a toner before.

Yes, I use a toner. Like you, more for triple cleansing function. And I do use a hydrating toner to amplify the function of my moisturiser.
and also…it has become a habit to use a toner.

Renee, that’s too bad! I heard lots of complaints about the toners in the 3 step system. I’m not sure why it made you more oily, but isn’t that toner supposed to exfoliate as well? Maybe using it daily was too harsh for your skin and made it worse? I’m glad your skin is back to normal now. I don’t think toners are necessary, but if you’re willing to give them another go maybe a gentler product would work best for your skin type.
Connie, I’m glad those are working well for you. I love moisturizing toners (even if I don’t use them often lol) as I feel they actually do something for the skin.
Jamilla, I like to use toners when I’m testing a new makeup remover so I know if it really removes everything. Some leave a residue that I don’t tend to notice without the toner test lol. And if I need a deep cleaning, I finish with that too just like you. And that’s good, I avoid any products with alcohol as well, as that’s very drying and irritating!
Jess, I never noticed that with my skin but maybe that’s because I’ve always used basic, cheap toners. I’m glad they work so well for you and I understand why you won’t do without. If they did that for me, I’d stick with them too.
Vonvon, I used to use toner out of habit too, then one day I ran out of it and realised my skin didn’t feel or look different if I skipped it. I do like hydrating toners though as they do more than just give skin a fresh feeling so I think they are actually worth the money.
I completely agree with what you said. I haven’t used a toner for years because it didn’t seem to make much difference other than making my skin feel fresh (and a little tingly sometimes).
I wouldn’t mind using one again but I would have to choose carefully and find one which is actually supposed to do something (something that minimises/tightens pores would be nice). Of course that doesn’t mean that it will really do what it says, but…a girl can only try

Simone, I feel the same way and when you don’t see the benefits of a product, there’s no point in buying them. I like those hydrating toners as I feel they do more than just give a fresh, tingly feeling but I need to check the ingredient lists carefully cos sometimes that’s just marketing hype while the actual product doesn’t really do much. And most of the time, I’m just easily distracted by other skincare products like moisturizers or cleansers that provide more benefits for the skin so I’d rather buy those instead. For me to stick to a toner, it’d have to be amazing and make a big difference in how my skin looks and feels and so far, that hasn’t happened.
I just mix 1 part glycerin, 4 parts water in a spray bottle and spray on my face for added moisturizing benefit. Other than that, I don’t use toner, especially the ones with alcohol.

i use toner too! but sometimes i skip it if i am lazy or running out of time. there’s a slight difference in using and not using a toner for my skin, but i guess it’s not big enough to make me use toners even if i am short on time!

i used to tone with apple cider vinegar regularly but not anymore. it’s only a thing i do when i remember or feel like to as i now don’t see much difference.
I only use really hydrating toners, not the normal one though as I couldn’t really feel any difference

Dao, that’s nice that you make your own. It’s cheap and effective.
I agree, alcohol is really bad for the skin, so drying and irritating! Toners with alcohol should definitely be avoided by everyone.
Plue, if you can’t see a big difference, I don’t blame you for skipping. I can go longer periods without it for the same reason
Jojoba, me too. I haven’t stopped using toner completely (I like the feeling it gives and can be useful to remove makeup) but it’s not one of those things I do regularly cos I feel it’s a bit of waste of time and money since it doesn’t make any difference for me.
prettybeautiful, yeah, the regular ones don’t really do much so unless they’re really cheap, they’re not really worth buying. But the hydrating ones are nice.
Only to remove makeup
All Women Stalker, toner is really good at removing those last traces of makeup your cleanser leaves behind, isn’t it?
