Looks: Simple Purple and White

Hello everyone,

what look do you usually wear when you don’t have much time to get ready in the morning? When that happens, I either do a neutral look or wear a neutral shade on the crease and a colorful one of the lid. But this time I decided to do something different.

I used a colorful shade (in this case purple but if you have trouble rocking it you can use any other color you want) on the crease and white on the rest of the eye. I really like how it turned out. It’s soft and wearable but still gives a nice pop of color to the face. What do you think?

Products used:
– Senna Totally Transforming Eyeshadow Primer
– Sephora Colorful Mono Eyeshadow in Aspen White
– Sleek Original palette (purple)
– Sleek Curious palette (lilac)
– Wet n Wild Kajal & Eyeliner in white
– Max Factor Masterpiece Max Mascara

Directions:
– Apply an eyeshadow primer all over the lid to create a base for the shadows to adhere to.
– Swipe a white shade (I used Sephora Colorful Mono Eyeshadow in Aspen White) all over the lid, crease, browbone and tearduct.
– Now, apply a bright purple shade (I used the one in the Sleek original palette) on the crease and blend. With MAC 219 pencil brush, swipe the same shade on the lower lashline too.
– Swipe a soft, lilac shade (I used the one in the Sleek Curious palette) on the edges of the purple in the crease area near the browbone to soften any harsh lines.
– Apply a white eyeliner on the waterline. This will open up the eyes.
– Finish off with mascara.

It is so pretty! I did a purple look last night but did not take any pictures. Purple and lilac eye shadows are trendy this season.

Anastacia, thanks. The purple I used is a really bright shade, but once blended, it turned out pretty soft, which I liked. I think it looks pretty and wearable, but colorful. :)

Soooo lovely! I can’t believe that it’s one of your fast looks (my fast looks are always so fucking nude). It’s perfectly blended (especially the purple. It looks like a brand new shade!). But honey, could you do me a favour, pls? I’d love to see you with a winged liner one day (the style is up to you: thin, bold or Amy Winehouse inspired). Thanks in advance!!!:-)

Ooh, I like this. I’m totally liking the neutral-substitute. I rarely go neutral. Then again, I usually have time to go all out anyway.

Mylanqolia thanks. You are always so nice hun :) I wear nude looks sometimes when I don’t have much time to get ready but I don’t really like them. I’m pale and neutral looks tend to make me look washed out and ill. :( Besides, I think this is a good compromise between natural and colorful and I’m glad you like it :)

You know what? I tried to wing my eyeliner the other day but it wasn’t turning out good so I removed it. I should know better than applying eyeliner when I’m in a rush. I need to take my time with eyeliner or I always make a mess lol. But I’ll definitely give it another go soon and post it :)

Trisha, thanks. I’m not really a fan of neutrals (they look pretty on other people but not on my pale skin), so I thought this was a nice alternative.

I like to wake up early and take my time to get ready and do those bright looks I love. But the weather had been so cold here lately that I indulged in my cosy and warm bed a lot longer than usual and so when I wake up I need to get ready fast.

Purple! My fav shade of all time, besides pink. ;)

Like the way you ‘reversed’ the shades, lighter shade on the lids, and darker shade above it. Cool idea!

Vonvon, thanks. I was tired of doing the same thing all the time and though this would be a nice change. I love purple and pinks too. They’re my fave shades together with green :)

Oh, c’mon, dear, I’m not nice. I’m just honest. As for the winged liner: Yeah, it’s understandable that you avoid it when you’re in a hurry. I also pass the step of the winged liner if I have just 5 mins to save the world, no, jk, to do my make up. ;-) Honestly, I’m looking forward to seeing one of your experiments with the liner. To be honest, I’m very curious now. *he he he*

Mylanqolia, the weather has been so awful here lately that I’ve been spending more time than I should in my warm, comfy bed in the mornings which doesn’t leave me much time to get ready. But I do have more time during the weekends (and hopefully the weather will start to get better soon!!) so I can experiment. I did a look with the winged liner but for some reason, it didn’t really look that winged in the photos lol. I’m gonna post them anyway but I’ll try the winged technique again soon.
