Name: Glisten Shimmery Powder
Brand: Senna
Size: 12.9g
Price: $25.00

From Senna’s website:
This sheer, softly sparkling face powder is so lightweight you won’t know you have it on except that your skin looks so good. Wear Glisten tints over makeup for a subtle radiant glow.

What I liked:
– sheer
– shimmery, makes skin glow
– evens out the skintone
– longlasting

What I didn’t like:
– not suitable for pale skin
– the packaging
– the price

Senna Glisten Shimmery Powder is a shimmery face powder that is supposed to give skin a radiant glow. It is available in 4 shades, three of which are bronzy-tinted and should be used over makeup, while the fourth is Nude and can be used as foundation for a flawless finish.

The powder was provided to me by PR for consideration and unfortunately they didn’t ask me what my skintone was so, instead of Nude, which would have suited me better, I got Beach, a sheer medium bronze that is way too dark for me. Still, for the sake of the review, I went ahead and tried it.

The powder is quite soft to the touch, blends easily and despite looking very shimmery in the pan, once applied, it’s not over-the-top shimmery and won’t make you resemble a discoball. Instead, it will give your skin a nice and beautiful glow.

Beach is quite sheer and I think it would look perfect on medium skintones. It will perk their skin up, evening out their skintone and diminish flaws while adding a glowy finish that lasts for the entire day without any need for touch-ups, but on my pale skin, it just looks like a very unflattering shade of orange. :(

I’m not too keen on the packaging. It’s quite big and circular, but too simple. I don’t mind that it doesn’t come with a brush as those that come with compacts are usually rubbish and I end up using my own, but I would have loved if a mirror was included. That would have been useful and more practical for touch-ups on-the-go.

Summary
Overall, I like Senna Glisten Shimmery Powder. Although not suitable for people with pale skin (unless they like to resemble an orange), those with medium skintones will love this sheer and shimmery powder: it evens out the skintone and provides a long-lasting dewy look.

Rating: 3.5/5

Yeah, $25 seems a little steep to me, too.

Trisha, that’s the main reason why I didn’t rate it higher. It’s a good product but there are cheaper options available that work just as well.

Tavia, yep, I do and I still have a few things to review from them. When their PR contacted me, I thought they were sending me just a couple of items to try and review, but they have been pretty generous. Not that that influences my reviews, my priority will always be to be honest and truthful to my readers. :)

I don’t wear shimmery powders much myself but I think they are great for special occasions or to perk up a tan. :)
