Looks: Purple and green

Hello everyone!

Today’s look is a request from my friend Mylanqolia. We both like experimenting with makeup and colors (be sure to check out her blog to see some creative and beautiful looks) and our favourite eyeshadow shades are green and purple. So, when she asked me if I could do a look using these colors I was more than happy to oblige.

Unfortunately the pictures didn’t turn out too well and the blending looks horrible (it looked ok in real life, I swear!) and I blame that on the bad indoor lightening. Now that it’s winter, I can’t always take pictures in natural light, so please bear with me until the weather gets better.

I’ll try and do another look using these colors cos they are beautiful, bright and go so well together, but I’ll wait for a sunny day next time lol. Without further ado, here’s the pix, enjoy!

Products used:
– Urban Decay Primer Potion
– Sleek Original palette (pale pink and bright purple)
– Beauty From The Earth eyeshadow in Envy
– Pupa black pencil eyeliner
– Wet n Wild Kajal & Eyeliner in white
– Max Factor Masterpiece Max mascara

Directions:
– Apply UDPP all over lid as a base.
– Sweep a soft pink shade (I used the one in the Sleek Original palette) on the inner parts of the lid and crease. Apply some on the browbone to highlight and, with MAC 219 pencil brush, sweep some on the inner lower lashline too.
– Apply a light green shade (I used Beauty From The Earth eyeshadow in Envy) on the middle parts of the lid and crease and blend where it meets with the pink. Using MAC 219 pencil brush, apply some on the middle lower lashline as well and blend.
– Apply a bright purple shade (I used the one in the Sleek Original palette) on the outer parts of the lid and crease and blend where it meets with the green. Apply some on the lower lashline using MAC 219 pencil brush and blend.
– Line your upper lid and the outer part of your waterline with a black pencil eyeliner.
– On the inner waterline, apply a white highlighter. This will open up the eye a bit.
– Finish off with mascara.

Wow, I’ve never thought of blending green with purple. I will give this a try since I have a palette with some green and purple. It does not look as bad as you thought, I find some colors do not photograph that well.

Oh, that looks very nice! That makes me want to do the same thing, although I’d need to use different products as I don’t have what you have.

Dao, thanks. I don’t think the pictures look that good, but then I’ve always been very critical of myself. I am my own worst enemy. I love using green and purple eyeshadows, the colors are beautiful and compliment each other very well. I just wish the pix had turned out better, they don’t really do the look justice.

Nikki, thank you. It took me ages to blend everything well, I just wished it had shown up better in the pix. :)

Tavia, thanks and you should try that too. If you don’t like bright colors for your makeup, there are loads of sheer and soft green and purple shades you can use instead. Aww ta hun, I’m so glad you like them :)

Jeez, it looks awesome with your enviable eye colour!!! You can be sure that I’ll copy it very soon (thx so much for the instructions). *yeah yeah* By the way, I received my Sleek Curious palette yesterday. Oh, my God, it’s wonderful! Thanks again for your brilliant review on it and for the link of Alice’s shop. I don’t regret my choice not a bit. :-)

Mylanqolia, that’s ok, don’t worry I understand. I’m busy and so behind catching up on other beauty blogs and even my emails too, there just don’t seem to be enough hours in a day. It’s good to see you back though and hope you had a relaxing weekend. :)

You’re welcome and thanks, I’m so glad you like it. I’m sorry the pictures are so bad, I’ll try again. I actually want to try to do something brighter next time. But I can’t wait to see your look, I’m sure it’ll turn out much better, you’re so talented!

No problem, I’m glad I could help. It’s stunning isn’t it? It’s definitey my fave Sleek palette, at least so far. The colors are gorgeous and go so well togther. And isn’t the white shade an absolutely beautiful hughlighter? I’m glad you’re loving the palette too. :)
