What I didn’t like:
– strong scent
– the packaging
Let me start by saying that I’m a huge fan of Barry M. Their products are available in a huge selection of colorful shades, are pigmented and inexpensive. So I was very excited when a few months ago Barry M finally added blushes to their line. It was long overdue!
The blushes are available in six shades, all of which look bright and scary in the pan. Usually I would go for a pale pink shade, but since I have way too many blushes that fit that description, I decided to opt for strawberry, a vibrant reddish pink, instead.
I had to order it online and when I finally got it in my hands, I was very worried. I didn’t see how such an intense shade could look good on pale skin. Barry M describes the color as sheer but I disagree. Of course, the blush can be applied sheer, but this stuff is highly pigmented and the shade intense and vibrant.
So, I did what I always do with pigmented blushes. I applied it using my ELF Studio Complexion Brush, which has fluffy bristles that don’t pick up too much product and applied it with a light hand, making sure to hold the brush at the end of its handle. That way, I apply less pressure and the brush doesn’t deposit too much color, ensuring a more natural application.
And voilà. This way, the blush gives a nice punch of color to the face without looking unnatural or like a clown. Although not for the faint of heart, the shade is actually wearable and flattering. It has a matte finish which I like cos adding shimmer to such a bright shade would have been too much and just not look good.
As for the texture, that is soft to the touch but nowhere near as soft as that of most high-end blushes. Still, the powder is finely milled, not chalky and easy to blend. And while it has a strong unpleasant scent, once applied on the cheeks, I can’t smell it at all.
My only complaint is the packaging. The clear plastic case looks cheap and tacky and as always, the little brush that comes with it is useless and scratches my face so I never use it. I really hope they will redesign it, but I’d still repurchase this in another shades anyway. After all, as long as the product’s good, that’s all that matters, right?
Summary
Overall, I’m in love with Barry M Blushers. The shades are very vibrant and look shocking in the pan but they can be applied sheer for a wearable pop of color on the cheeks. Finely milled and easy to blend, the blush lasts most of the day. However, the packaging is not very appealing.

Nikki, I’ve just discovered matte blushers and I like them too. This one is indeed very pretty!
Connie, have you tried panasianbeauty.com? I’ve ordered from them before and shipping is quick and very reasonable. They don’t have the entire range of Barry M products but they have the most popular ones like the blushers, Dazzle Dusts and Nail Paints. I hope you manage to get some Barry M products, they’re awesome, esp considered the price.
Little Miss Savvy, thanks. This looks very scary in the packaging, but once blended it’s very pretty and wearable.
I’ve always admired Barry M products, but I haven’t had a chance to try them. That color in the pan looks awesome and swatched looks even more amazing! I totally agree with the packaging though. It looks real cheap and seems as if it’ll break easily. Hopefully they upgrade the look!

Jamilla, thanks for mentioning that and making Barry M products more accessible for everyone worldwide. I’ve ordered from your shop before and I’ve had a very positive experience. Delivery was quick and everything arrived in perfect condition. I’ll definitely order from you again.
Dee, I hope you can try some Barry M products soon, they’re well worth the money. The shade is indeed beautiful and I can’t wait to try the others as well. I agree with you on the packaging, it looks so tacky! They should revamp it and soon! But at least the product inside is awesome, which is the most important thing.
i agree on the cheap packaging bit, but heck, if it works as well, packaging is not THAT important right….?

prettybeautiful, I agree. I don’t like the packaging and think it should be revamped, but I won’t let that stop me from buying this again. It’s one of my fave blushes ever.
I love the color, you know me always crazy for pink. I never used Barry M products but I like the review and I think they deserve a try
Tavia, I love anything pink too eheh and this one has some hint of red too which makes the shade really beautiful.
