- fresh feeling on lips

What I didn’t like:
- not moisturizing
- not long-lasting
- the taste

- SPF?
I am a lip balm addict. I love trying new lip balms (in tubes, pots, tinted etc) all the time and I have at least a dozen lying around my house and in my purse. And even though my lips are soft and moisturized, I apply lip balm about 20 times a day simply cos I’m used to it and feel naked without.
But now I’ve found something that could cure my addiction, if only I could bring myself to use it: a crappy lip balm, just like Blistex Lip Infusion. The lip balm is clear and in liquid form. The consistency is very thin and runny, so unlike most lip balms out there, it doesn’t feel waxy at all.
However, it doesn’t feel like you have anything on your lips either. One layer doesn’t provide enough moisture for me, so I just apply two or three coats but even then the moisture has all gone away after about 15 minutes.

This is definitely a lip balm that you need to reapply A LOT during the day to keep your lips hydrated, especially if they are dry and chapped. But since mine are alright, I use it as less as possible cos I can’t stand the taste. It tastes a bit like medicine to me and even my boyfriend has commented about how awful it is. And the artificial scent is just as bad.
But to be fair, there are a couple of things I like about the lip balm. It has a metal ball applicator that glides smoothly and effortlessly on the lips leaving a cool and refreshing feeling behind. In addition, the balm makes your lips shiny, giving them a nice glossy effect. However, I don’t think these are good enough reasons to buy a lip balm that doesn’t moisturize, since that is what lips balms are supposed to do.
The lip balm contains Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (also called Octinoxate) and Ethylhexyl Salicylate which protect against UVB rays. While I appreciate that the lip balm contains some form of sun protection, it isn’t broad spectrum. And since the lip balm doesn’t last very long, I think the sun protection may probably disappear pretty soon too. So I wouldn’t rely solely on this for sun protection.
Summary:
Overall, I like the packaging and the concept of the lip balm, it’s innovative and interesting. Unfortunately, the lip balm is also ineffective. It doesn’t moisturize lips, disappears soon and smells and tastes disgusting.

I love the rolling-concept, but I’ve never came across a rolling lip balm! ^0^ It’s such a bummer that while the lip infusion leaves a cooling effect, it doesn’t moisturize. Which is a total irony since that’s what lip balms are for.
I really do not have any love for Blistex lip balms because it has a sweet taste that makes me lick my lips all the time. I don’t know if this lip balm has that problem or not because if you lick your lip balm, the moisturizing layer is gone. Hence, you need to apply more and more of it.
Dao´s last blog ..Cyber Monday Musings
Hanna, that was the first time that I used a rolling lip balm. I was pretty excited to try it but unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. Apart from giving a fresh feeling to the lips, it does nothing
Dao, I’m not a huge fan of Blistex lip balms either. I usually stick to Labello cos they have so many types and flavours and they are all amazing.
But the rolling applicator really caught my eye, too bad the product is crap. I don’t think that’s the problem with this lip balm cos it tastes horribly and the last thing I wanna do is lick it off. Simply, it adds very little to no moisture and that disappears pretty soon
