What it is
Octyl Salicylate is a colorless liquid with an oily consistency.

What it does
Octyl Salicytate is a sunscren agents that protects from some, but not all, UVB rays.
In addition, it has emollient and anti-bacterial properties that help to prevent a product from going bad.

Side effects
Octyl Salicylate doesn’t protect against UVA rays and so it needs to be used in products with other sunscreen agents to offer broad spectrum protection.
In addition, it degrades when exposed to sunlight.
