Tavia, I agree. Once you use a primer, you just can't go back to applying shadow on bare lid. But not everyone uses primers or even knows what they are (I only discovered them about a year and a half ago!) so I think testing both ways is the best option. :)

As for pigments, I have some that are very long-lasting even without a primer. But a sticky base would help the pigments adhere better to the lid and reduces fall out. I still test them both ways though and you're welcome. I'm glad you like the idea and I look forward to your Illamasqua review. :)

Good thing really, to test the eyeshadow without a base. Since I've discovered the Too Face primer insurance I can't imagine putting eyeshadow without using the primer first, it became so natural for me. But you are right and I forget that. I had to make a review about a pigment from Illamasqua and your idea is great in testing the product without primer, but being a pigment I dunno how much it would last. Thanks :)

Tavia, I wish it was cheaper too. The colors are sheer, but lovely :)

Like you, I always use a primer so the shades stay put all day and the color payoff is better too. But I like testing them without a base as not everyone uses one. They should though, it makes a great difference :)

Dee, I agree, for that price I would have preferred to get more product and better pigmentation. But overall, I think the trio is better value for money than the single shadows which are $16.50 each.

Mmm I'm not sure what set it is, cos I couldn't find it on the website but I think it depends on the products and what you look for in them. I've had the chance to try quite a few products and while most things are really great, others are just average.

The shadows and powder blushes are very sheer (and keep in mind that I have very pale skin) and you need a primer to make them last all day. If you like sheer products, it may be worth it, otherwise I'll skip it. The Cheeky Blush however is a different story. It's a cream blush with the staying powder of a powder blush (it really lasts for hours!). It's my fave products from Senna, but it's very very shimmery which could put some people off. But I like it cos it's pigmented, offers a hint of color and highlights.

The Spot & Lite Pencil is great too and you can use it to highlight your browbone, cheeks etc and offers a nice, but not too obvious glow. The concealer is good at hiding imperfections while the Form-A-brow kit is a very handy tool to do your brows and has 4 different stencils to suit all brow shapes. The glosses instead are on the sheer side too and sticky, but last for 5 or 6 hours so I don't mind the stickiness.

Overall, it depends on what you want from a product. None of the products suck, but some are too sheer (eyeshadow & some glosses), others too shimmery (cheeky blush) and depending on your personal tastes you'll either love or dislike them.

If you're interested in Senna products I think the set may be an affordable why to try them, but just consider both the pros and cons of each product before you buy it to make sure you're gonna use them. Hope this helps, if you need more info, just let me know :)

The shades are beautiful I really like them, but the price indeed is kind of high. I use a primer all the time before I apply my eyeshadow so I don't have a problem with them fading away :)

Dao, I agree, the colors are lovely, esp the one in middle, it looks bautiful on the lid. I just wish they were more pigmented. I have to layer them a few times and I'm very pale. But I think some people may like that.

If it was a few years back, maybe I would buy it because I preferred sheer shadows, but lately I'm lovely high pigmented shadows! The colors look real pretty, but for 22 dollars used epect to maybe get more product? I hear that Senna has a set filled with eyeshadows, a powder, blush and something else for only 50USD. Overall, would you think their product is worth the buy Gio?
