Hello ladies,
how are you all today? Hope you’ve had a nice and relaxing weekend. Last Saturday, I did something that I don’t do often: I wore a kinda natural, subdued look. As much as I love my brights, every now and then it’s nice to do something more wearable.
Since I don’t have many natural shades, I decided to pair brown with silver and although I don’t love how it turned out I don’t think it looks that bad either. The pictures do though. I’m sorry for that but they were taken after a rare night out under artificial lights so that’s why they’re not that good.
I just thought I’d post them anyway as you don’t see me often sporting this kind of look. And because I’m not very creative or good at creating natural, wearable looks, any suggestion is very appreciated. Without further ado, here’s the look:

Products used:
- Urban Decay Primer Potion
- Sleek Curious eyeshadow palette (silver, white and medium brown)
- Sleek Chaos eyeshadow palette (dark brown)
- Pupa pencil eyeliner
- L’Oreal Telescopic Explosion mascara
Directions:
- Apply UDPP all over lid as a base.
- Apply a soft silver shade (I used the one in the Sleek Curious palette) on the lid and crease.
- Swipe a medium brown shade (I used the one in Sleek Curious palette) on the outer corner. With MAC 219 pencil, apply the shade on the lower lashline too.
- With MAC 219 pencil brush, apply a line of dark brown eyeshadow (I used the one in Sleek Chaos palette) on the crease. Now take a crease brush (I used Smashbox’s) and gently blend the color, sweeping it up.
- Apply a white shade (I used the one in the Sleek Curious palette) on the browbone to highlight and on the tear-duct to open up the eye.
- Apply a black pencil liner on the lid.
- Finish off with mascara.

very simple yet it gives out a great depth! Love the deep crease effect
ohh!! you made silver worked with brown
I’ve always shunned away from silver because it didn’t seem to look good on my skin tone at all and I never thought of pairing it with a brown! Lol. thanks for the inspiration

Me jealous!! hehehe!!
I thought the colors did work!! The brown gave some depth to the look! Like you, i was not sure if browns worked with silver, but i did a look sometime back with the same colors as you, and i kinda liked the effect!
This is a very classy look! You are very artistic and creative in coming up with so many interesting EOTDs.

Nikki, thanks a lot. I’m glad you do, that’s what I love the most from this look too
Connie, you’re welcome. I wasn’t sure of this combo at first but I think the colors work well together and I can’t wait to see how they look on you
Hi Gio! This look is great, I love that your also do some natural wearable looks for day to day wear. Is not so hard to make it but has its effect

Jenn, thanks. I agree, it’s a daunting combo to try but it works so well
Vonvon: thanks, I’m glad you like the look. And you’re too sweet, you’re making me blush.
Dao, thank you. Most people (esp my mum!) keep telling me that all the time. I don’t feel very comfortable wearing natural looks but I’ll try and do them more often as they look lovely. Still prefer brights though
Tavia, thanks. I like natural and wearable looks, they are very pretty. I just don’t feel very comfortable wearing them. I know it may sound weird to some people but brights are more me. Still, I enjoy doing a natural look every now and then and I’ll try and post more for you all to see
I’m so envious! I can never blend silver and browns together it always choppy I don’t know why. You look amazing with silver on. Have you seen the new sleek palette Graphite and Sunset yet Gio? It looks real nice!

Indeed, this in an unusual EOTD from you, Gio! Unusual in a good way, that’s it since u always have brights. ^_^
Thanks for this post, I’ll def gonna try it since im more into neutrals.
Dee, thank you! Yes I have and I’m in love with Sunset! It has such a bright mix of warm and summery shades I really adore. Thankfully, that’s permanent so I can wait to get it. I’m not sure about Graphite, the colors look a bit too similar for my taste. It’s perfect for those who love smokey eyes but being so pale, it’s not a look I wear often. But for the price and the good quality of the shadows, I can’t really complain too much.
Ahleessa, thanks very much hun, I’m glad you like it
Hanna, thanks. I know, it’s unusual to see me with neutrals, but it’s nice to step out of my comfort zone and try something different at times. Can’t wait to see how this look turns out on you. I’m sure you’ll do a great job
