senna eyeshadow primer 01

Name: Totally Transforming Eyeshadow Primer
Brand: Senna
Size: 0.14oz/4.00g
Price: $22.00

From Senna’s website:
This anti-aging neutral cream eye shadow primer contains a potent vegetable ogliopeptide from natural hibiscus that functions in much the same way that Botox injections do, but without the pain and loss of facial expression!
Helps firm and smooth the eyelid while minimizing lines and wrinkles.
Helps cover discolorations such as redness, darkness, or irregular pigmentation.
Eye colors look richer and more true, and they last longer.

What I liked:
- makes eyeshadow last longer
- eyeshadow doesn’t crease
- makes eyeshadows look more vibrant
- reduces redness and uneven pigmentation
- long-lasting

What I didn’t like:
- the packaging
- the price

I’ve recently had the chance to try some products from Senna Cosmetics, including their Totally Transforming Eyeshadow Primer. Although it doesn’t work as well as botox as the company says (no cream or cosmetic product applied topically does), it’s worth a try if you’re looking for a shadow primer and concealer rolled into one.

The primer has a creamy, not too thick, consistency that glides on smoothly and blends easily into the skin. When applied on the lid, it makes eyeshadow look more vibrant, although I get better color payoff when I use Urban Decay Primer Potion.

In addition, Senna primer makes my eyeshadow stay put all day without creasing, just like UDPP. But keep in my mind that my lids aren’t very oily. If yours are, this primer may perform differently for you.

Not only Totally Transforming Eyeshadow Primer works well as an eyeshadow primer, but it can also be used as a concealer. It evens out the skintone and cover redness around my eye area.

It also helped conceal my dark circles but they didn’t go away completely. But then my dark circles are really bad and it’s not easy for me to find something that makes them disappear entirely.

I also noticed that the lines around my lines appeared reduced, thanks to the silicones like Dimethicone and Phenyl Trimothicone, that filled them in. But the effects are only temporary.

And even though I find the small circular pot very pretty, I’d rather it came in a tube as that would be more hygienic.

Summary
Overall, I like Senna Totally Transforming Eyeshadow primer. Eyeshadows look richer and brighter (although other primers give better color payoff) and will last all day without creasing. In addition, it can also be used as a concealer to hide skin imperfections and temporarily reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. However, it is on the expensive side and the packaging isn’t hygienic.

Rating: 4/5

I’ve heard about Senna for a while but never got anything because of the price. I’m glad it works well for you.

Dao, I only found out about Senna recently too. Yes, the products are pricey but if you ever decide to try them, it’s nice to know they work. :)
