pupa lipstylo extreme 1

Name: Lipstylo Extreme
Brand: Pupa
Size: 1.9ml
Price: €11,90

From the packaging:
- Absolutely brilliant lipcolour for a fresh dewy look. Light, melt-on texture.

What I liked:
- pigmented
- dewy finish
- not sticky
- the packaging

What I didn’t like:
- not very moisturizing
- not long-lasting

I rarely buy lipsticks (I’m more of a lipgloss girl) but when I went to the store the simple and sleek grey tube of Pupa Lipstylo Extreme lipstick caught my eye. I started playing around with the many shades available and instantly fell in love with no.8 so I brought it home with me.

No.8 is a bright coral red shade with a glossy, wet-look finish. It is quite pigmented and, once applied on the lips, it looks more like a gloss than a lippie, which I was very pleased with. ;)

But while I really want to love this lipstick (after all the shade and finish are gorgeous!), I find it to be just average. Its smooth texture is easy to apply and melts on the lips. However, it is not very moisturizing so I always apply lip balm underneath to keep my lips hydrated.

And it isn’t very long-lasting either. After about an hour, it has faded almost completely, leaving just a hint of color on my lips. Needless to say, I have to reapply this often throughout the day, but at least the tube is very practical and easy to carry around.

Summary:
Overall, Pupa Lipstylo Extreme Lipstick is just average. It is available in lots of pigmented and bright shades with a wet-look finish and isn’t sticky at all. However, it isn’t very moisturizing and it doesn’t last long.

Rating: 3.5/5

It looks a lot like Clinique Almost Lipstick, which is moisturizing but does not last that long, either. I love this color on you, it’s so bright!

The color looks real nice on you Gio. You lips looks nice and flushed. Shame it didn’t stay on longer. I hope you do more Pupa reviews. I’ve been wondering about this brand and whether or not to purchase them!

Nikki, I’ve used Pupa makeup for years but I’ve never tried their fragrances lol. But I love their makeup products. Their mascaras and baked blush are particulrly good. You should check them out if you have the chance.

Dao, I’ve never tried Clinique lippies. Their makeup line has never caught my eye but I’m curious to try the lipstick now and see how it compares. Thanks, all the shades of this lippie are very bright. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I love them.

Thanks Dee. I love Pupa and I use their products all the time so I’ll surely do more reviews. Although this lippie is just average I really love the mascaras (you can’t go wrong with them!) and the baked blush, it’s lovely. The eyeshadows are pretty good too.

I reviewed a couple of their products already, their smoothing primer and the Hydra Luminys foundation, both of which I love. You can find the reviews here http://beautifulwithbrains.com/2009/10/02/product-review-pupa-professionals-smoothing-foundation-primer/ and here http://beautifulwithbrains.com/2009/02/02/product-review-pupa-hydra-luminys-foundation/ if you are interested.

But I definitely recommend checking out their products if you can :)

I had the same thought as Dao, it looks a lot like Clinique Almost lipsticks. Pity about the quality, it’s such a punchy colour perfect to brighten up rainy days….I’m not too bothered about the lack of lasting power but I can’t live with non-moisturizing lippies :( (((( Buona settimana, Gio! xx

Never heard of this brand. Too bad it wasn’t moisturizing, but the color looks good on you! :)

Anna, I’m even more curious to try the Clinique lipstick now. I love the shade and finish of this lippie and if the Clinique one offers that and moisturizes as well then I’m sure I’ll love it. I’m not a fan of non-moisturizing lipsticks either. I always use lip balm underneath anyway, but even that way they don’t always feel very comfortable on the lips. Grazie, buona settimana anche a te :)

Ahleessa, Pupa is an Italian brand. Their products are usually much better than this lipstick, but at least the color is pretty :)
