Jojoba oil (pronounced ho-ho-ba oil) is a liquid wax produced by the seeds of the Jojoba plant. This versatile oil has moisturizing, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties that provide numerous benefits for skin and hair. Here are a few ways you can use this oil in your beauty routine:
1. Face and body moisturizer: jojoba oil spreads easily and absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving it soft, smooth and hydrated. Because it is very similar to human sebum it can balance oil production by tricking the skin to believe it is already producing enough oil. You can use jojoba oil by itself or add some drops of the oil to your favourite face and body lotions for added moisture. In addition, when used as a face moisturizer, it provides a perfect base for makeup.
2. Makeup remover: soak a cotton ball with jojoba oil (or mix the oil with water in a small container and shake) and use it to remove eye and face makeup. Not only it will dissolve all traces of makeup completely but it will condition your lashes too! Remember to use a damp washcloth to remove the oil afterwards.
3. Lip conditioner: jojoba oil is a good alternative to lip balm. Apply a few drops to heal chapped and dry lips.
4. Hair conditioner: add a few drops of jojoba oil to your favourite conditioner and rinse out for shiny and moisturized hair.
5. Treatment for split ends: before blow-drying, apply a couple of drops of jojoba oil to your ends for treatment and protection.
6. Cuticle oil: rubbing a few drops of jojoba oil every day to your cuticles will keep them soft and healthy.

In the winter, I used to put jojoba oil and a bit of essential oil in a spray bottle to use as a body oil. Also, I mix it with olive and castor oils to make an oil cleanser for my face. And of course, I can mix it with other things to make a tinted lip balm.

Dao, I never thought of creating a tinted lip balm with jojoba oil but it sounds lovely. I’m definitely trying that, thanks. And this is one of my favourite oils to use with the OCM due to its moisturizing properties.
