Name: Colour Perfection Duo Eyeshadow
Brand: Max Factor
Price: €11,90
From Max Factor’s website:
Each compact contains two flattering fashion eye colours that work well together; experiment with must have neutrals or dramatic brights for a look that’s totally individual. Application is a dream thanks to an easy-blend silky texture and long lasting, no crease formulation.
What I liked:
- very shimmery
- easy to blend
- the price
What I didn’t like:
- not very pigmented
- not long-lasting
- it creases
- the packaging
I’ve usually had good experiences with Max Factor products. I love their lipsticks and concealer, so I thought I’d give their eyeshadow duos a try too even though the shades selection isn’t that great: there are only six basic color combinations available. The one I have is called Star-Studded Black and contains two shimmery shades: a pale silver and a greyish black.
The texture feels hard to the touch and is quite fallout-prone, but apart from that, the powder is easy to blend. The colors apply very sheer and they are perfect for people who want just a wash of color. As for me, I prefer more pigmented shades, so the color payoff was a disappointment.

Both shades are also very shimmery. Although the shimmers look like huge glitters in the swatch, they aren’t big or too obvious. They’re just super-shimmery, which can be too much for some people.
The shadows last about five or six hours before they start creasing but this can be avoided by using a primer which will also make the colors stay put all day.
I’m not a fan of the packaging either. It’s too basic and simple and the sponge applicator that comes with it is very small and totally useless. But then those applicators that come with eyeshadows always are.
Summary
Overall, these eyeshadows are average. The color combinations are very basic and the shades are very shimmery and easy to blend. However, they apply sheerly, crease and don’t last all day unless used with a primer.

MF is pulling the plug in the US at the end of this year. I don’t really like their eyeshadows as the pigmentation is weak.

That’s a shame Dao, Max Factor has some really nice products, but I agree on the eyeshadows. They’re pigmentation is very poor. I guess if you like sheer eyeshadows they’re ok but there are much better products on the market.
