What do you do with makeup you don’t use or like?
Beautiful with Brains says: it depends on the product. I throw away stuff like mascara or liquid eyeliner. Anything else, I ask my friends and mum if they want them. If not, I swap or sell.

i do all the things you do exp. for selling my makeup. i don’t know how to sell them. feeling weird. i also give away to MUA members or my blog readers.

Well, it gets pretty complicated for me
mascara, cheap shadow, lip product: Toss
moisturizer: body lotion
used once shadow: beg my friend to take it
other cheap shadow/nail polish: use them to franken-polish, then toss
sheer nail polish: use it on edge of boxes and to seal off something
Selling used cosmetic is illegal (at many state so we can’t do that on eBay…I wonder why do I still get stuff that look used…urgh) and I don’t feel like doing that on a blog (I mean who would buy it if I say it’s a boring product in my review anyway.)
I don’t swap because it’s just so time consuming (why don’t I just dump those in the trash anyway, I don’t want used cosmetic all the way from Europe…)

I do the same thing just like what you do lol I only sell some stuffs that I have only used once or several times for hygiene reason..

jojoba: that’s nice of you. Usually I sell on forums. I open a topic with all the stuff I’m giving away and state that I either swap or sell. I prefer swapping because most of the items, although just once or twice, are used, and I feel weird selling them. But if the person interested in my stuff has nothing to swap, then I sell. I sold a couple of stuff on ebay too. But both the ebay and paypal fees are so high you barely have anything left once you pay them. Besides, you can only sell unused stuff on ebay.
Citrine: that’s nice that you find altenative ways to use the products, so they don’t get wasted.
Selling used cosmetic isn’t allowed on ebay but people do it anyway. Most of them say so, so at least you know what you’re getting before you purchase. But if the seller states a product is new and it isn’t, you should report them and ask for a refund.
I like swapping with my blogger friends and have the chance to try stuff that’s not available here, but doing it on forums can be a real hassle. That’s why I don’t do it often. I usually just wait until I have quite a few things I don’t use anymore and then I need to give them away to make room for new ones.I don’t mind lightly-used stuff as most of them can be sanitised.
Shuu: me too, I don’t think selling very used stuff is ok. But most lightly-used stuff is good as it can be sanitised easily.

Most times I give them away to friends and family members whose skin/hair/etc may be more suitable. Otherwise, I’ll just toss. I did swap once or twice though, but the shipping cost is high.

Shipping costs are way too expensive, lately they have increasd again here! 
I think it’s swapping for stuff that’s not available in your country or for high-end items that you couldn’t otherwise afford. But drugstore items that you can easily buy in any store aren’t worth swapping just for the high shipping fees.

I would never swap/sell anything liquid that goes near the eyes, I wouldn’t wanna give anyone any nasty irritations. That’s nice, I’m sure your mom and cosuins appreciate it.
prettybeautiful: it’s not easy to find a buyer is it? On the forums I use, most people want to sell but not many want to buy lol.
