Intensive Beauty is the latest line released by Neutro Roberts, a personal and skin care Italian brand. This new line offers a range of innovative products containing regenerating oils that provide benefits to the skin. It was launched a few months ago and for the occasion, a website was set up offering samples of the products. I filled in the form straight away and got a sample soon afterwards.
Balsamo Corpo Sotto La Doccia is basically a body lotion to use in the shower. It was designed for people that don’t like to use a moisturizer after showering and is supposed to make you save time when you get ready in the morning. Wouldn’t that be great if it worked? Unfortunately it doesn’t. Not for my very dry skin anyway.

Packaged in a pretty purple tube, the lotion is creamy and white in color. The scent is not overpowering but not too light either. I don’t particularly like it but I don’t hate it either and anyway, it only lasts a few hours.
First, you get in the shower and wash yourself as usual, then massage the lotion on your body and wait just a minute before rinsing off. It applies smoothly and my skin felt quite smooth while in the shower.
But I don’t really like th idea of having to rinse off afterwards as wouldn’t that remove most of the lotion? For this reason, you have to pat dry carefully or you’ll take away even more cream. When I finished, my skin was just slightly softer and more hydrated than usual but the effect didn’t last long and I still had to apply a body moisturizer. If your skin is normal, this lotion could work for you, but it is definitely not moisturizing enough for people with dry skin.
And I don’t really think this lotion saves you that much time really. Between shoe ring, applying the lotion, waiting and rinsing it off, it takes pretty much the same time to just apply a moisturizer after the shower.
As for the regenerating oils, this product doesn’t seem to contain many. The main ingredients are petrolatum (derived from petroleum), dimethicone (a silicone) and cetearyl alcohol (a fatty acid), which create a barrier on the skin that slows down water loss and soften skin.
Summary:
Overall, I was really disappointed by this product. It hydrates skin, but not as much as a body moisturizer, which I still need to apply afterwards.
