Posted by beautifulwithbrains | March 28, 2009 .

What it is
Isopropyl Myristate is a colorless liquid.

What it does
Isopropyl Myristate is an emollient that softs and smoothes skin.
It is also used as a thickening agent and a binder, preventing the water and lipid components of a product from separating.

Isopropyl Myristate is highly comedogenic.
Studies have shown that, undiluted, it irritates skin and eyes, but products containing this ingredient don’t.
