Name: LiftActive CxP Anti-Wrinkle And Firming Day Moisturizer
Brand: Vichy
Size: 50ml
Price: €28

From Vichy’s website:
Reduces wrinkles and skin becomes tighter.

What I liked:
- moisturizes and leaves skin soft and smooth
- skin is tighter
- no breakouts

What I didn’t like:
- skin looks shiny after a few hours

Vichy Lift Active CxP line is formulated for women aged from 40 to 50 years old. I’m much younger than that but I’ve found a sample of this cream in a magazine so I decided to try it anyway. The sample was big enough to last me more than a month and was designed for people with normal to combination skin.

The moisturizer is white and has a rich, almost wax-like consistency and a light scent. It is easy to apply, absorbs quickly and isn’t greasy. It works well under foundation and I noticed a slight improvement in how my skin looks. It hydrates skin, leaving it feeling smooth. I can’t stop touching my face as it feels so soft! My skin also looks clearer and slightly more firm. I also didn’t have any breakouts. The moisturizer contains silica, which among other things, absorbs oil. However, after a few hours, my skin is shiny again.

Because I’m still quite young, I can’t really say whether this product has anti-ageing properties. The product claims to boosts collagen production and elastin thanks to Vitamin C. The form of Vitamin C used in this cream is Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, which is actually said to improve skin collagen synthesis. However, this ingredients is listed almost at the bottom of the label, so I doubt the concentration used is high enough to cause some serious improvement. In addiction, this ingredients degrades rapidly when exposed to sun and air. The product should therefore be stored away from sunlight.

Summary:
Overall, I really like this cream. It makes my skin sooo soft and smooth! It hydrates well, isn’t greasy and my skin seems slightly firmer. I can’t really say whether it is effective at reducing wrinkles since I’m still young, but I doubt the Vitamin C contained in this product can have any significant effect considering its low concentration, esp if not stored properly.

Rating: 4/5

i just saw teh road show of this brand at a local mall the other day. this is a lovely brand for skin care but not too cheap here. many. it has some lovely products indeed. this product you tried seems to be very interesting and you have given it such a high mark too. i have to see it for my own two eyes. not sure if we have it though as I don’t pay attention to Vichy when i go to the pharmacies. Vichy is a good brand for skincare. I tried a few of their products and they all worked very well for me. I can’t judge the anti-aging effects, but apart from that, this is really one of the best moisturizers I’ve used.

I used to use a facial moisturizer to avoid wrinkles – however, they are designed just to keep water close to the skin. There seems to be a misconception that there is a correlation and relationship between dry skin and wrinkles. In my skin I have noticed that a moisturizer will temporarily make wrinkles less apparent because it moisturizes my skin, however for those of us that already have wrinkles its not doing anything!!

Thank god I found a great FACE FIRMING cream. A face firming cream is one that tightens skin molecules.. . .I recommend the Made from Earth vitamin enhanced face firming serum – its from the Made from Earth skin care product line. If you are planning to go for a firmer face, you must use one without chemicals, because in the long run CHEMICALS WILL WEAKEN YOUR SKIN MOLECULES. DO not use chemically laden face firming treatments. So, I have been using the Made from Earth Face Firming for the last 6 months and I have seem significant results.

Even my husband who barely notices anything noticed that my face looked “fresh”.

It works great for me, and I recommend it to all women that want to stop the madness of expensive wrinkle treatments that do not work.

Hi nancy, thanks for your comment. That is exactly how moisturizers work, hydrating skin and preventing water loss, but no cream can make wrinkls disappear. However, I’m still no convinced that all chemicals are bad for the skin until I see some scientfic proof to back up those claims. Having said that, I do lean towards more natural skincare as I think that’s best for the skin and body. That product sounds great, you got me really curious to try it. I’m glad it works that well for you.

I am 32 years old. I have recently purchased the Vichy liftactiv CxP. The box says 40+, but I am much younger than that. I am worried that this might make my skin worse. Should I use it, or return it to the store? Please help. ASAP! Thank-you.

Hi Samantha, it doesn’t matter how old you are, the cream won’t make your skin worse because you’re younger than people it was designed for. I’m 27 and the cream worked very well for me.

You should only stop using it if it irritates your skin (redness, burning, stinging) or makes you breakout, which didn’t happen to me. But if your skin doesn’t react badly to it there’s no reason not to use it.
