Name: Intense Eyeliner Pen
Brand: Barry M
Price: £3.95
From Barry M’s website:
A waterproof, long wear formulation in a rectractable pack for easy use.
What I liked:
- beautiful intense color
- long lasting
- waterproof
- smudgeproof
- retractable so there is no need to sharpen it
- easy to remove
- the packaging
- the price
What I didn’t like:
- not easy to get a thin line

I don’t use eyeliner very often and when I do I only apply a thin black line. Lately, I started considering buying some colored eyeliners and looked around for a good quality one that was smudgeproof, longlasting and didn’t break the bank. I wasn’t too keen on spending lots of money on something that I probably wouldn’t have used that much. When I went to London at the beginning of the year I stopped at a Barry M counter to stock up on some of their Dazzle Dusts and saw these retractable pen eyeliners. They are available in 8 vibrant colors ranging from blue to green, from pink to the classic black. And at £3. 95, they’re a steal! I bought no.5, Kingfisher blue which is a beautiful shade of light blue that looks very intense when you apply a couple of coats.
The eyeliner is easy to apply and goes on smoothly. It doesn’t smudge at all and doesn’t run down my face giving me that horrible panda look. It is waterproof and very longlasting. Most of the time, when I apply eyeliner on my waterline it disappears after a few minutes but this doesn’t. I only had to reapply it on my waterline once throughtout the day. As for the coats I applied on my upper and lower lashines, they stayed put until I took off my makeup before going to sleep. And despite being waterproof, it is very easy to remove.
This is a retractable eyeliner so there is no need for a sharpener. This prevents those annoying accidents like sharpening too much and thus a whole chunk of eyeliner breaks off (or does that happen to me only?). However, because of that, it is not easy to get a very thin line. Also, be careful not too unscrew the liner too much as it could break off!
The eyeliner is sealed in a clear plastic wrap, so you can be assured that no one else has used the eyeliner as a tester, as I’ve seen some people do in several stores. The color of the packaging matches the color of the eyeliner and the size is perfect to fit in your purse.

(Excuse the messy application please. I just applied it quickly so you could see the beautiful color.)
Summary:
I absolutely love this eyeliener! It’s definitely HG material. The liner is easy to apply, smudgeproof, waterproof and longlasting. It is available in 8 intense shades and it’s very cheap. I’m definitely planning on purchasing all them in the near future.

That’s an absolutely gorgeous blue!
when i spotted Barry M, I must have a look as this is a truly great brand. I didn’t want to try more of its products because they are so hard to find…
the colour is very nice on you! i think it’s exactly like the MUFE Aqua Eyes I recently used. i can understand why it’s difficult to get a fine line as it’s an automatic pencil. Maybe you can blend it with eye shadows and it will look kind of smokey!
Yeah, the color is quite vibrant and pretty!
That is such a gorgeous color! I find Rimmel London eyeliners to be fun as well. I guess you have that brand where you live, right?
WOW! that’s a big WOW!!! I love the color!!!!
Connie: it really is
jojoba: Barry M is one of my fave brands, their stuff is so good and inexpensive and there are so many beautiful colors to choose from. It’s not available here so I either have to get their products online or stock up when I’m in the UK. They should really open more counters worldwide.
Because I can’t get a very thin line I usually only use it when I’m wearing a neutral look. But I like the idea of blending it with shadow, I’ll ty that soon, thanks.
Citrine: I love the color, it’s very intense. I can’t wait to try the other shades now.
Dao: it really is a beautiful color. Yes, we have Rimmel London here, but for some reason that’s a brand I often overlook. I’ll check out the liners next time I go to my local shop.
Nikki: me too! It’s absolutely gorgeous!
