Name: Disney Face Color Ball
Brand: Paul & Joe
Size: 0.88 oz
Price: £17.62

From Paul & Joe’s website:
A gorgeous face colour selection in a unique ball shape comes in an attractive, pillbox container with an enchanting Disney character – Bambi or Flower – and the iconic Paul & Joe chrysantemum design. Inside is a deliciuosly cute bowed puffball for gentle application.

What I liked:
- very pigmented
- gives cheeks a natural and healthy glow
- the packaging

What I didn’t like:
- the scent

I fell in love with the Paul & Joe Disney collection as soon as I saw it, the packaging is just soo cute! I particularly liked the face powders, which are available in two versions: 001 Fantastic Orange (Bambi) and 002 Classical Pink (Flower). My boyfriend bought me the orange one for our 7th anniversary, isn’t he sweet?

The face powder comes in beads of three different shimmery shades: coral pink, peach and gold. Once applied the color is a lovely and natural peach/orange shade. There aren’t many powder beads inside the box, but they’re very pigmented and a little goes a long way. The product can be used as a blush or as a highlighter. And, if used sparingly, can be applied all over the face to give a healthy and glowy complexion. The staying power is impressive and the scent is nice but strong. However, I can’t really smell it once it’s applied.

The packaging is super cute! The round box features Bambi and the typical Paul & Joe floral design. It comes with a powder puff with a ribbon, which is so pretty and girly, but I don’t use it. I prefer to apply the product with a brush as that gives a more natural result and makes application easier.

Summary:
Overall, I really love this face powder. Despite that fact that there aren’t many beads in the box, they are very pigmented and give a nice and healthy glow to your face. And the packaging is too cute!

Rating: 4.5/5

Effects Of Smoking On Skin

Posted by beautifulwithbrains | March 30, 2009.

smoking

Smoking is one of the worst things that we can do to our bodies. Everyone knows it causes cancer and increases the risk of heart diseases, which are  good enough reasons to quit. However, this isn’t always the case. So, if health risks aren’t enough to motivate you to stop this dangerous habits, then maybe some vainer reasons will. Smoking, in fact, causes premature aging and makes your skin look dull.

Smoking ages you
Every time you take just one puff of your cigarette, more than a trillion free radicals are formed in your body. Free radicals are very unstable molecules that damage DNA cells causing premature aging.
Nicotine causes blood vessels to constrict, decreasing blood flow so that your organs, skin included, can’t get the proper amount of oxygen and other nutrients they need. Smoking also increases the production of an enzyme that breaks down collagen production, which is vital for skin elasticity.
The content of Vitamin A in your body, which protects from skin damage and from harmful chemicals and allergens, is reduced, making your skin more prone to allergies. The absorption of Vitamin C, which is a powerful antioxidant, is also reduced.
In addition, the movements you make when smoking, like pursing lips and squinting your eyes, cause wrinkles around those areas.

Other negative effects on skin
Smoking makes your complexion become yellowish grey and clogs your pores with tar and resins, causing blackheads.
In addition, your skin becomes dry and dehydrated and, due to poor circulation, thinner.

Other side effects of smoking
- Your breath smells horribly like an ashtray. Your pores will smell like tobacco too.
- Brown/yellowish stains on teeth.
- Smoking alters your body shape, causing thin legs and a potbelly. This is because smoking affects the glands that secrete hormones.

Characteristics of a smoker’s face
- lines and wrinkles
- gaunt features
- yellowish grey skin and dull complexion
- loss of tone and elasticity

Not all the damage caused by smoking can be reversed. But by quitting cigarettes you’ll stop the damage getting any worse. And by taking proper care of your skin and health you can still achieve a beautiful and radiant complexion.
