Name: Demaq Expert Milk-To-Toner 2 in 1 Makeup Remover
Brand: L’Oreal
Size: 150ml
Price: €12,50
From L’Oreal website:
For the first time from L’Oréal Paris, an ultra-effective make-up removing milk which then transforms into a fresh toner. A texture that transforms on application for a complete make-up removal solution in a single step.
What I liked:
- transforms from cream to liquid
- pink color (I know it’s not really a pro, but I love pink and really couldn’t think of anything else I like about this)
What I didn’t like:
- doesn’t remove all makeup
- leaves a greasy residue
- stings
- the fragrance
- ingredients
I’ve been curious about this relatively new line of cleanser from L’Oreal ever since it came out. This product in particular, Milk-to-Toner 2 in 1 makeup remover, claims to transform into a toner that removes eye, face and lip makeup all in one step. I like multi-tasking products and I was hoping I would be able to make my cleansing routine faster and cheaper. Unfortunately this product turned out to be a HUGE disappointment and I’m just glad that I didn’t have to pay for it, but only tried a sample.
The cream is a light pink/white color that quickly turns into a watery, although not toner-like, consistency when you massage it on the skin. Then, you remove it using a cotton pad. However, it doesn’t remove makeup well at all. I still needed to use my usual cleanser to get rid of makeup residues this left on my skin. In addition, it left a greasy film on my face.
Another thing I dislike is that this cleanser is not really gentle. It did sting my face so I was too scared to try and remove my eye makeup with it. And the fragrance is nice but very strong and it was really bothering me when I applied the product. Even if this actually worked, I doubt I’d use it again because of the heavy scent, which is something I can’t really stand in beauty products.
One of the main cleansing ingredients contained in the product is Butylene Glycol, which is an alcohol. Ethylhexyl palmitate, a fatty acid, and Isohexadecane are used as solvents too.
One of the prservatives in this product is Imidazolidynil Urea, which has been proved to release formaldehyde. See this post for more information on this subject.
Summary:
It sucks! Definitely the worst cleanser I have ever used. It doesn’t remove all makeup, leaves a greasy residue and stings.
Rating: 1/5

I’m sorry it does not work for you. Most L’Oreal face washes do not work for me as well. As you mention, they don’t seem to remove anything very well and are harsh for my skin. I haven’t used a L’Oreal face wash in a very long time.
Can’t agree more with your review. Lol at the pink being a pro bit. lol
I hated everything about it too. Definitely one of the worst purchases I’ve made in the past year or so.
Ouch I hate when stuff stings!
At first it actually sounds interesting. But the stinging, not removing makeup well is a big turnoff.
wow i cnt believe this sucks completely! my friend even recommended it to me. thanks for the review
Well done review here. Now I know I don’t need to try it out.
Hmm no good eh? Then I’ll pass. Thanks for the review
Dao: I think I’ll stay away from them too from now on. I tried one of their eye and lips makeup remover as well and while that, was good at removing makeup, it stang my eyes. They’re products are definitely too harsh for me.
MisSmall: I’m obsesed with everythink pink lol, can you tell? I trid to find something good about this, but I couldn’t, it just sucks completely.
Lydia: me too!
jnie06: I was pretty intriuged by its claims, it’s a shame it doesn’t deliver at all.
prettybeautiful: maybe it works better for your friend, products can work for some people but not for others. But it didn’t nothing at all for me and I would never recommend it to anyone, esp to people with sensitive skin as this is quite harsh.
Ashley Cooper: thanks. Definitely avoid this, there are plenty of other makeup removers out there that work great.
Tine: you’re welcome. It’s definitely one of the worst products I’ve ever tried.
This products is rubbish and I’ve tried alot of cleansers. It says it transforms from milk to a toner but this is bull! Its greasy and it also says to remove either with water or cotton, but if you even try and rinse it off with water none of the product comes off, it literally feels like it’s stuck on your skin along with your makeup etc thats still mixed in with it. Overall not good at all, the only thing I can say is good about this product is it’s smell. woopi doo…
I agree Morgan, this is the worst cleanser ever! What were they thinking releasing something so bad? It doesn’t remove anything but makes your face a mess!
i love this product, it really did remover every single bit of my makeup, it didnt sting me at all, which is wierd as i have very sensitive shin and any thing like that usally does sting me, i didnt find the smell over powering at all, it really did speed up my removing make up routine as all i had to do is pop a bit on and then remove with a cotton pad. i loved it, it is my favouite thing ever and im still feeling my skin after it and its so soft still, i had dry skin from wearing bad foundation and it cleared that right up, in the first go it was so soft. i really do love this thing and iw ould recommend it to any body. i cant believe you thought so bad of it.
Michelle, I’m glad it works so well for you. I really wanted to like it too but it did absolutely nothing for me
I can’t believe all the bad comments, I love this make up remover & have used it since it came out.
I bought it when my Dior ran out on vacation just to keep me going until I got home, I never went back to my Dior or Lancome.
I am checking Ebay to get more as it appears to have been discontinued & I bought up everything that was sold off locally.
I am devastated that it has gone.
Penny, I’m glad to hear that you liked this makeup remover and am sorry for you that it has been discounted. It’s so annoying when you have to start searching for a new product all over again. I really wanted to love this makeup remover but I’m afraid it just didn’t work for me.
