eeyes

Name: Eye Beauty Eye Shadows
Brand: Eyeko
Price: £5.00

From Eyeko’s webiste:
With a selection of five complimentary shades per tin, mix and match your beauty moves to suit your mood.
Sexy Eyes: Enhance your natural beauty with subtle shades of burnished bronze, peach, rose and khaki for a sexy smoulder.

What I liked:
- lasts all day (if used with a primer)
- the packaging
- the price

What I didn’t like:
- not very pigmented
- flaky texture

Eyeko Eye Beauty eyeshadows are available in 3 different combinations: Cool Eyes (greys, dark blue and purple shades), Pretty Eyes (pastel pinks, lilac and white) and Sexy Eyes (subtle peach, bronze, khaki and pink). Each of them contains 5 strips of eyeshadow colors. I was very undecided which one of them to get but in the end, I chose Sexy Eyes.

The colors look beautiful in the tin. They are very soft and sheer and slightly shimmery. However, they aren’t very pigmented at all! I’ve had to apply  quite a lot of product to make it show on my skin and I’m really pale! The texture isn’t very good either, it’s flaky. They’re quite easy to blend though and the colors last all day, but only if you use a primer.

I was very disappointed by the texture and color payoff. I would only recommend this to teenagers who aren’t allowed to wear a lot of makeup or women who like the barely-there makeup look. Otherwise, stay clear of it.

The packaging, instead, is super cute! The round tin isn’t neither too big nor too small. It’s the perfect size to carry in your handbag and looks very girly and pretty.

Summary:
Overall, I was very disappointed by these shadows. The colors in the tin look beautiful, but they hardly show off at all. They are very subtle and not pigmented. The colors last all day only if you use a primer. The packaging, however, is adorable.

Rating: 2/5

About 2 weeks ago, I was really tempted to place an order on Eyeko’s website. The products look great but the currency exchange is more than I expected. I’m glad to read your honest review, otherwise I could have spent some money on things I can’t return.

Dao: I’m glad this review helped. I couldn’t resist placing an order with them. The exchange rate is quite good for me at the moment (£5 is about € 5) and p&p are free. Add to that the cute packaging and I was sold! I hope the rest of the stuff I purchased is better. It’s too bad you can’t return the goodies though, you should always be able to do that.

Sab: I heard good things about eyeko products, so I was disappointed these about the quality of eyeshadows. Hopefully the rest of the stuff i got works well. I haven’t got round to trying them yet, but I’ll do it soon. And the packaging is sooo cute!! Eyeko products aren’t available here either but the website ship worldwide and shipping is free.

this brand has always reminded me of Pop cosmetics, sold on Sephora. Sorry to hear that it didn’t work out. Glad to know that though before I order anything. Merry Christmas!

Jnie: thanks! And Merry Christmas to you too! This palette reminds me of pop cosmetics eyeshadows too. Pop has some round tins with 5 strips of eyeshadow shades as well and they look pretty similar. They’re more expensive though but hopefully the quality’s better. I’m glad this review helped you. :)

I guess sometimes things in cute packagings don’t really have that much substance. it’s too bad :( Sorry it didn’t work out for you.

I’m such a sucker for cute packaging but I guess looks can be deceiving sometimes. :(

I had been lemming these for some time too, partly because of the cute packaging, so I was very disappointed the quality was so poor. It looks very pretty though.
