Pumpkin is good for your skin because it contains antioxidants and vitamins. It moisturizes, soothes inflamed or irritated skin, exfoliates, increases cell regeneration and helps other ingredients penetrate in the skin.
Here are a couple of homemade beauty recipes you can make with pumpkin:
1. Pumpkin Facial Mask
Ingredients:
- 2 teaspoons of cooked or canned pumpkin
- 1/2 teaspoon of honey
- 1/4 teaspoon of milk (if your skin is very dry, use whipping cream instead)
Mix the ingredients and apply to your clean face with circular motion. Don’t apply around the eyes area.
Wait about 10-15 minutes and then rinse off with warm water, pat dry and apply your moisturizer.
2. Pumpkin, Sugar and Spice Scrub
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of cooked or canned pumpkin, pureed
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
Mix the ingredients together.
Using a damp washcloth, apply it to your body but not on your face with circular motions.
Rinse off with warm water and pat dry.
