I was browsing the Japantrendshop website when I came across this weird-looking thing. Apparently, it is a scalp massager called Head Kenzan and was inspired by a kenzan, a Japanese tool used for arranging flowers. It has 92 “not-too-hard and not-too-soft” bristles and handles to brush back and forth to massage and energize your scalp. It measures 600 x 125 x 60mm (23.6 x 4.9 x 2.4in) and costs $44.
What do you think of the Head Kenzan? I’m really curious to see how well it works but I’m not sure I would buy it. It looks a bit ridiculous, doesn’t it?

i could only laugh at that thing upon seeing this post. it’s a NO WAY for me. it’s a dandruff stimulator!
well I wouldn’t try this coz I’ve tried other head massages and it numbs my head to death! hahahha
It looks like a torture device to me =) There’s something I saw that’s also a head massage. I will take a picture when I visit that store.
It looks like it would make my head feel better but too expensive
sometimes I dont wanna scratch so just I tap my head with my finger haha
Jojoba: Really? I thought these things were supposed to have the opposite effect. Well, it’s a no way for me too then. It made me laugh too, it’s looks funny.
Nikki: I’m sorry about that. Personally, I think nothing beats massages for your head.
Dao: that was my first thought too. Can wait to see the head massage you’re talking about. They all look so weird!
Digital Angel: haha I agree that the price is too high, I’d just rather use my fingers! It kinda intrigues me though.
I think wooden comb will do the same job without the chunky size and all that statics electricity…(that thing is made of plastic right…)I thought it looks like a torture tool too
i don’t know if it will produce more dandruff. I was kidding! it looked like it might. lol. too scary looking for my head.
lol it looks funny but I would probably use it.
Citrine: that’s exactly why I don’t know if I would buy it. It intrigues me but you could probably get the same results with a lot less money by using a comb and maybe your hands. I wonder who comes up with this stuff.
Jojoba: haha I though so! Don’t think head massagers could stimulate dandruff but then I guess you never know lol. It’s just that I’m paranoid about dandruff. I have very oily hair that often tends to have dandruff and I’m always scared of doing something to get it worse! I’ve probably tried every dandruff shampoo out there and haven’t found one I really like.
Lydia: It does look funny! It’s hard to believe that something that looks that ridicuolous works, but I’d try too just out of curiosity.
uh…. for some reason i’m not surprised that its from Japan, they always come up with such bizarre products. I do get the point of this but it looks kinda funny and rather pricey.
I would think the mac & hello kitty collection would be pink too. I read somewhere that it was going to be good kitty and bad kitty? Maybe this is just the naughty part of it. Either way I can’t wait.
the girl looks pretty relaxed though.. haha!
Jnie: I always wondered how they manage to come up with stuff like this, it’s a mistery to me. And I agree that it is overpriced. It would have to work REALLY well for me to spend $44 on a head massager.
And about HK collection, I hope you’re right. Black HK just doesn’t do it for me, it looks too surreal. I love pink and girlish stuff so it was a shock for me to see the collection. Hopefully the rest of the collection won’t be disappointing as well.
Sab: she really does lol, but then models always do look relaxd and smily. I feel for them when they do commercials for disgusting-tasting food and they still manage to smile while eating that crap! How do they do it?
Head massagers normally look like giant spiders, so this is definitely preferable. It just looks like a doormat to me.
You’re right, it definitely looks better than the spider-type but still it looks odd. Judging from the picture, it doesn’t look like something relaxing, but who knows, maybe it works wonders.
