Product Review: Olaz Complete Day Cream with UV Filters

Name: Complete Day Moisturizer With UV Filters
Brand: Olaz
Size: 50ml
Price: 8,66€

From Olaz’s website:
From the first application, you will feel your skin is more hydrathed and smooth giving you a healthy and glowy look. The protective action of SPF 15 UV filters together with the antioxidants properties of Vitamin E helps fight free radicals and sun rays, the main causes of aging.

What I liked:
– the price
– skin feels hydrated and smooth
– SPF

What I didn’t like:
– the fragrance

I bought the Olaz Complete Day Cream this summer. I was looking for a moistirizer with SPF that wouldn’t break the bank. This was very cheap and so I thought I’d try it and I have to say it is one of the best drugstore moisturizers I’ve tried so far.

The cream is white and has a light consistency. It absorbs rapidly and isn’t greasy at all. It hydrates my skin and leaves it feeling smooth. It kept me skin shine-free for a few hours, which I loved cos it usually starts shining again after just a couple of hours. I also didn’t notice any breakouts.

It has a nice and delicate fragrance. I don’t like fragrance in cosmetics as it is one of the most irritating ingredients used in products, but if you don’t have a product with that, this has a nice scent that is not overpowering.

Olaz Complete contains Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane (Avobenzone), which protects against UVA rays, Octocrylene which protects against UVB rays and Vitamin E, which is an antioxidant that protects skin against ultraviolet radiation.

Summary:
Overall, I really liked this cream. It left my skin soft and hydrated, it is cheap and contains sunscreen ingredients that will protect your skin from both UVA and UVB rays.

  1. I guess Olaz is Olay? I’ve always been curious about this product, thanks for the review.

And I love that you know so much about the diff ingredients, so helpful!

  2. That is Olay over here :) I use that product everyday and love it! The one I use is for sensitive skin and is fragrance free. It also has titanium dioxide as a sunscreen ingredient and comes in a bottle, not a jar. And yeah, it is really affordable. Thank you for reviewing, this product is kind of under-represented in the drugstore.

  3. Jnie: yes, Olaz is Olay. I’m glad you found this helpful. I’m still learning lots about ingredients evry day and sharing with you all as I do. I think it’s important to know what we put on our skin :)

Dao: you’re right, olay/olaz is so underrated and that’s a shame cos th products are actually good. And the cream version for sensitive skin sounds even better than this as titanium dioxide is one of the best sunscreen ingredients and protects from both UVA and UVB rays.

fabulessbeauty: yes, you’re right, thy’re the same brand. Yoiu should definitely try the cream formula, it’s really good.

Nikki: you’ìre right, they’re the same :) accoding to wikipedia, the product had a different name in each country “so it would sound pleasing and realistic to consumers”, but for me, it is just confusing!

Mike: it is a great product! And I love it taht it contains broad-spectrum sunscreen.

Alyssa: it is olay but for some reason it is called Olaz in some European countries :)

    • Stavroula, you’re welcome. Olay/Olaz makes some fantastic moisturizer and I love that this contains SPF too so it protects your skin while taking care of it. :)
