Product Review: Bottega Verde Melt-On Chocolate and Almond Body Cream

Name: Melt-On Chocolate and Almond Body Cream
Brand: Bottega Verde
Size: 200ml
Price: 9,99€

From the packaging:
The pure pleasure of chocolate caresses for supple, silky soft skin. The intense aroma of cocoa to lift your spirits on a fragrant wave of euphoria.

What I liked:
– the fragrance
– isn’t greasy
– moisturizes skin leaving it feeling soft

What I didn’t like:
– scent can be too strong for some

I love chocolate, so when I saw this product I’d thought I’d give it a try. It is a white, thick, rich cream that absorbs quickly into the skin and isn’t greasy. It is very moisturizing and leaves my skin feeling soft.

I love how this cream smells. It has a very strong scent of chocolate with a hint of almond. However, because the fragrance is quite overpowering at first (it calms down after a while), some people may not like it at all. I do find it very pleasant though, and so must do my mother and my boyfriend because they both tried to bite me when they smelled the scent on me!!

Bottega Verde claims to be a nature-friendly brand and while it is true that every products contains natural ingredients, they also contain lots of chemicals and synthetic stuff. This cream contains helianthus annuus (sunflower oil), almond oil and theobroma cacao (cocoa butter), which are all natural moisturizers.  However, it also contains silicones, such as dimethicone, which gives skin a soft and smooth appearance. While it isn’t bad for you, it certainly isn’t natural!

Bottega Verde Melt-On Chocolate and Almond Body Cream is rich, very moisturizing and isn’t greasy. It also has a strong smell of chocolate and almond, which I really like.

It must smell really yummy! Chocolate and almond, oh my! I find most brands that claimed to be natural as bogus because they do have lots of chemicals in the products. However, they advertise the products as pure and natural to attract customers. So thank you for posting the information up as it may help lots of people.

Just think of all the REAL chocolate you can buy for €10.

I just found out my moisturiser – which I adore – that comes from my own health store company contains parabens and a formaldehyde-releaser. This is sad. I intend to report many fictional customer complaints in an effort to make them change the formula.

Dao: it does smell yummy! It actually makes you want to it lol.
I hate it when brands make sure false claims just to attract customers, it’s not right and something should be done about it. I’m usually wary about natural brands cos most of time when you read the ingredients list you find they contains lots od stuff that is not natural at all. I hope this information can be hlpful to someone.

Sab: it really is. I’m trying to avoid these ingredients, but it is so hard, they’re everywhere :(

Anastasia: you’re right, I’ll buy real chocolate from now on. I got this on sale though so it’s not too bad.
That is too bad! I hate it when you found out that a product you love has nasty ingredients. Hopefully you’ll find a better one. Good on you for doing that, hope they’ll listen and change their formula.

LOL I LOVE chocolate and almonds ;] Hershey’s Harmony bar..YUM. But I don’t know, I don’t think I’d want to smell like chocolate. That would enable my hunger HAHA. Other than the smell I really like lotions that are creamy but not greasy so that’s good. Great review HUN ;]

Jessica Dee: I’m glad you liked the review. I have to say that the scent made me really hungry and that kinda distracted me while applying the cream. I don’t like greasy lotions either.

Alyssa: it is! It has a lovely scent and makes you so hungry!
