Product Review: E.L.F. Tone Correcting Concealer

Name: Tone Correcting Concealer
Brand: E.L.F.
Price: 2.03€

From E.L.F.’s website:
Multi-tonal silicon treatment masks skin tone imperfections and redness, leaving skin with a healthy glow.

What I liked:
– blends easily
– hides dark circles and blemishes
– evens out skin tone
– doesn’t cake
– the price

What I didn’t like:
– not many shades available
– needs to be reapplied throughout the day
– the fragrance

E.L.F. Tone Correcting Concealer is available in 3 shades. I purchased Fair, which is the lightest, but still a bit too dark for me. Unfortunately, with so few colours available, not everyone will be available to find their match, which is a shame because this concealer is actually really good.

Application is easy. The concealer comes in a tube with a sponge tip applicator which delivers just the right amount of product. It is easy to blend.

The texture of this concealer is smooth and hydrating. It truly diminishes dark circles, conceals blemishes and evens out the skintone on my under eye area. It doesn’t cake nor crease and it lasts for hours. You’ll have to reapply it at least once throughout the day, though.

The concealer has a strong orangey fragrance. I don’t really like fragrances in cosmetics, but if you do then this scent is quite pleasant.

Available at:

Overall, ELF Tone Correcting Concealer is one of the best inexpensive concealers I’ve ever used. It hides dark circles and blemishes, evens out the skin tone, is easy to apply and doesn’t cake. And you can’t beat the price! However, it doesn’t last for the whole day and it is available in only 3 shades.

Rating: 4/5

fabulessbeauty: thanks for the add!! I’ve added you to my blogroll, as well :)

Alyssa: I hope you get to try it out as it is a really great product, but I understand you not wanting to order from their website, I’ve heard bad things too. I have ordered from their UK site and didn’t have any problems at all. Shipping was a bit slow but I got everything I ordered.

Nikki: really? I didn’t kow that, don’t think I’ll try it then. I don’t really like fragrances in cosmetics, but so many have them.

I’m so glad you’re reviewing Elf products! I’ve had my eyes on that brand for a while, and now I’m more willing to give it a try. How’s the lasting power on the concealer? My biggest issue with concealers so far is them sliding off-midday, lol.

sab: the fragrance is pleasant, but strong. I just don’t like fragrances in cosmetics as they can be irritating esp if you have sensitive skin.

elena: I’m glad you like my reviews. The concealer lasts for hours, but it definitely needs reapplying during the day. If you’re looking for a concealer that lasts all day, I’m afraid this isn’t for you.

tokyostargirl: it’s such a great product, esp considered the price. I’m sure you’ll love it!
