What it is:
Green Tea Extract comes from the plant Camellia sinensis, which is rich in ingredients known as polyphenols (also called tannis) that have antioxidant properties.

What it does:
As stated above, Green Tea Extract has anti-oxidant properties that protect the skin from harmful effects of UV radiation and environmental stress and pollution, helping to prevent premature aging and wrinkles. It also fights free radicals.
Studies have shown that topical administration of Green Tea Extract resulted in reductions of tumors that occurred following UVB radiation.
Green Tea reduces DHT in the scalp and is therefore helpful for certain forms of hair-loss.

Side effects:
No allergies have been reported from use of green tea extract in skincare formulations.
