Product review: Nivea Visage Gentle Eye Make-up remover

June 10, 2008

Name: Gentle Eye Make-up remover
Brand: Nivea
Size: 125ml
Price: 3,99€

From Nivea’s website:
NIVEA VISAGE GENTLE EYE MAKE-UP REMOVER has been specifically designed for the sensitive eye area to perfectly remove water-soluble eye make-up without leaving any greasy residue. Its mild formulation with ProVitamin B 5 gently hydrates the delicate eye area.

What I liked:
- doesn’t irritate my eyes

What I didn’t like:
- doesn’t remove all make up

I am always looking for a bargain and when I came across this product I decided to give it a try as it is very cheap.

This product isn’t greasy, has a nice smell and it didn’t irritate or sting my eyes.

However I find it hard to remove all traces of make-up especially if I use dark colours or waterproof mascara. I always seem to be rubbing and rubbing at my eyelids and lashes trying to remove all traces of makeup.

If you’re looking for a natural product this eye make-up remover isn’t for you as it contains lots of chemicals such as Poloxamer 124 and PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil.

Summary:
Overall, I didn’t like this product very much. It doesn’t irritate the eyes and it is not expensive but it is hard to remove all traces of make-up so it really isn’t doing its job, is it?

Rating: 2/5

I’ve always been using Maybelline and Now i’m using the L’oreal ones but both came from the same company so I’m not sure how different they are. Thanks for the product review as I may give this a try after I finish up the L’orael :) Thanks by the way for dropping by my site. Hope to see you around :)

[...] have very sensitive eyes so I need a gentle product to remove my makeup. For years, I used the Nivea gentle eye makeup remover, mainly because it is very cheap and I don’t feel like spending lots of money for a makeup [...]

I used this one before. Yeah the price is really good, but I’m sorry to say, it’s not my fave. Coz it does irritate my eye era. =(

Right now I’m using a gentle eye m/remover from Estee Lauder. It’s a gift from my mom. =) No way I’m goin to buy it, way too expensive for my budget.

I used this for years, just because of the price. It’s really cheap! I’m sorry it irritates your eyes. I don’t have that problem with this but you need to rub a lot to remove makeup, which isn’t good for the eyes.
That’s a nice gift! I know what you mean, I bought a Helena Rubinstein set containg mascara, eye cream and ey makeup remover. I love the remover, it removs all makeup quickly and easily, but it’s so expensive I don’t think I’d buy the full-sized product.

Guess I have to keep on trying out other eye makeup removers. With affordable price, of course. Coz right now, the Estee Lauder remover is my HG eye/m remover.

Thehee it’s hard to find a new love when u’re already content with what u already have. ;)

You’re so right. It’s sad when you find a product you love but can’t keep using it because of the price. :( Guess we both have to look for a cheaper alternative.
